If I have to make one complaint, it would be that there is no blinking light for notifications while the screen is off. That's been replaced with a screen that briefly comes on when the phone is lifted or bumped, showing notifications, without fully waking the phone. Message previews show if the screen is touched. That's all handy, but I miss being able to just glance at the phone across the room to see a flashing light. Also, if the phone is not perfectly still, the screen keeps coming on, which has to use a little battery power. I assume that Motorola did away with the notification LED to save a little battery life, but it's not a perfect solution. I would suggest to them the option of a notification LED that can be set to only light while charging. (I assume there's a way to turn off the movement trigger, while it's sitting in a moving car, but I haven't found it yet.)
Anyway, I don't think you can beat this phone (or the smaller one) in this price range.
I love my old G4 Plus (except for the random ghost touch), but after 2 years i decided to change it...
In general terms, Im so glad with the new phone but I have some complains (maybe not so importants but...):
- Why they change the order of the buttons! Since G1, the lock/off button was above the volume buttons. Now they decided to invert the positions! This is so confusing, at least to me that I decided to buy this phone, also because it have the same size than my old G4 Plus, and Im adapted to it.
- Stupid speaker on the bottom! The speaker in the front sound much better than this new position and never was covered...
- Horrible and totally unsafe back camera! The phone has a really nice back in aluminium (to see and to touch) but you have to covered with a case because the camera stands out so much without any protection. G4 Plus had an "riple" on the back and a metallic frame that helps a bit to protect the camera... Why not in this one?
For the rest, its a very nice phone and a worthy member of the G family.
Pros: I love the fingerprint scanner. Regular camera works well. Good speed.
Cons: There is too much lag when taking pictures using the depth feature (dual cameras on the back of the phone). Suspect screen construction and durability--surprised to see my screen cracked even though it was not dropped. There is a thread on this in the Lenovo forums. The phone is so new that I have not yet found replacement parts (the glass screen) for the phone. Also, the phone has randomly rebooted several times now in the past two weeks.

This is a great phone. Especially in this price range and with such a good brand value.
1. RAM- 4GB RAM makes this phone extremely fast. You won't feel any lag at all. Speed is amazing.
2. ROM- 64 GB ROM provides you with enough space to save the need for any external card if you don't keep a huge amount of data on your phone.
3. Sim slot- This has a hybrid sim slot. So it is not a good thing for those who use 2 sim cards. If you want to use 2 sim cards then you will not be able to use your memory card.
4. Build quality- Excellent. Metal finish. Finish is excellent.
5. Buttons- 3 buttons to the right side of the phone. One for 'power off/on /restart' and other two are for volume up and down. You can also use one of these keys while taking photos in selfie mode.
6. Charging slot- Normal charging slot. So you can also use a normal OTG device quite comfortably with it.
7. Speaker- Excellent speaker. Great and loud sound. Given at the bottom near the charging slot.
8. Mic- provided near the charging slot. The mic is of excellent quality.
9. Fingerprint button- Provided at the front in the downward side. This is of excellent quality and preciseness. You can also use it as a navigating button and thus save some space of buttons on the display.
10. Headphone jack- 3.5mm jack has been provided at the top. It is also excellent.
11. Front camera- 8 MP front camera has been provided along with the flash. The flash here is a single colour. The quality of this camera is not great. It is just 'good'.
12. The speaker which provides you with the sound from another side during the call is very loud. You can hear what the other person is saying if you keep the phone even 1 cm away from your ear.
13. Back camera- It is 13MP+13MP double camera. But there is a problem. You need to learn how to use this camera. The camera is excellent but if you are a novice then you won't be able to capture great images. It also has a dual-color flash which makes it even better.
14. Display- Full HD display; 5.5 inches size; great ppi and sharpness.
15. Display glass- Corning gorilla glass 3 has been provided which is quite good.
16. Battery- Battery is very good. 3000 Mah battery has been given. It is non-removable. The battery management is very efficient. Even when I used it with 4G internet active, with 4-5 hours of talking, the battery lasted for 36 hours. Without opening the internet much, it lasted for around 48 hours. So battery capacity is not that large but battery management is highly efficient.
17. Turbo-charger- The charging is lightning fast. It takes only 30 minutes to reach from 0 to 50% battery. In 90 minutes, your phone gets fully charged.
18. Ambient light sensor- This sensor changes the display brightness according to the environment. Hence you don't have to worry about the brightness of the display.
19. Other sensors- All other required sensors have been provided which work just fine.
20. Camera hump- This is the worst nightmare in this phone. The back camera is protruding out of the back of the phone. So you will have to take care of this. Either go for any cover which can take care of this thing or do some other arrangement. This is the only bad thing which I found in this phone.
21. Software- The software is android 7.1.1. This has many great features and is more secure as well. It is stock android without many modifications. The software updates are very frequent for now. I've already got 2 updates within 10 days of purchase.
22. Processor- Extremely fast processor. There is not a single lag in my phone during operation in last 10 days. Extremely fast processor.
Final comments- At this price range of 15000 Rs., it provides a great phone. The brand value of 'Moto' in itself makes it justified. So many great things are here in this camera. If you can afford it, no other phone can match it in terms of brand value and value of money both.
Thank you.
16k for a cellphone which has 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM with FULL HD display, dual camera, dual sim/ sd reader firstly, that price tag really makes it a sweet deal. I chose this over the One plus 5. Of course, you may think there is no comparison of this phone with the one plus 5, and I totally agree, I did not compare it at all with the One plus 5, but again for 16k with all of the above features, I was happy to save the remainder of my 16k.
I read some reviews which speak of a missing compass feature on this phone, and for me, that really was never a big deal. I have never used the compass feature on my previous cell phone, I never found myself in a forest or in a mountain somewhere lost nor am I planning to go on an expedition which requires me to have a compass on me. Well if the day does come, I will carry a physical compass or better yet, look up to the stars and let the north star guide me home. But by all means, the compass feature must be very important to a lot of you out there.
I read about the missing notification light on top of the phone which is supposed to blink when you miss a call or receive a text. Now this feature also was never really important to me, firstly I find those blinking lights quite annoying and a distraction. In fact, the phone screen lights up every few seconds showcasing the time and notifications. So even if you have put your phone on silent and you've broken a record by not touching your phone for an eternity of 3 minutes as it sits on your desk, rest assured the display screen will light up to show you that the world has missed you in those 3 mins.
Dual camera - Ok, I am not into mobile photography. I am a hobbyist photographer and my weapons of choice are my Nikon and Fujifilm. So I won't really care to comment on plus and minus points of the dual camera of this phone, but I will only say this - it's not bad at all, it probably takes 2 seconds longer to save a photograph which my god is a lot for some people. 13 mega pixels and 8 mega pixels, makes my selfie shots presentable. But if you wish to have a life-size poster size of your mugshot with clearly visible acne scars, then I think the cameras on this phone may slightly disappoint.
Speakers - they sound just about right, nothing to rave about. There is a sound tear if you switch on the speaker phone, so the conversations you will be having with your spouse or mother in law won't be that pleasant to hear. But I don't think the would be pleasant even if the speakers were of Dolby stereo. I prefer the use of headphones while on the phone, the earphones provided by Moto are decent and get the job done when you wish to talk to people.
The operating system is smooth and functions well. There have been 3 occasions where I had to reboot the phone because of Instagram crashing. But that was the only issue I have faced. I have loaded up a few more apps and a game too and so far the phone hasn't slowed down nor has had any mood swings in its performance.
What else ?. Battery !. I read that the battery heats up while charging, Well maybe my phone is the exception to the lot. My phone doesn't heat up at all. It lasts almost the whole day and as my usage is pretty moderate.
What I like about the phone that it is indeed is a smart looking phone with its full metal body. For 16k, it has the look and feel of a premium quality phone. Some may differ with my opinion, but then again to each his own. By paying 16k, I now own a piece of technology which does the job really well and has not disappointed me yet. I also won't be disheartened if the technology becomes old in the next 6 months with the launch of a Moto G5s++. At least 6 months is better than technology growing old within ten minutes of its launch announcements.
Moto G5s Plus - works like charm and light on the wallet, comes with a few minor forgiving flaws, but then again which cell phone is perfect ??.
