Am able to play music and fast charge my Pixel 7 Pro at the same time finally. No diminished sound quality that I can tell. I did notice the adapter and my phone get warm when using the charger but that could just be a Pixel thing more than the adapter

So I was actually extremely disappointed with this product on my first test with it. I am leaving the country for about 2 months and wanted headphones that I wouldn't have to worry about keeping charged so I found this adapter and the reviews seemed good so i sent it with the order. I just got it and plugged it in and was very disappointed with the return quality; I even started a return and was ready to write a bad review about how just terrible the sound quality is. I printed off my return label and taped my package up ready to return it lol. I took another 30 seconds to look at reviews again and seen someone said to make sure the headphone jack is all the way plugged in because it's difficult at first, well... I opened my package back up and plugged it back in and gave it a good push to see if the headphones would go in further and now they are perfect. I am really satisfied with it now and the sound quality is actually surprising good. I cant speak for longevity as I haven't actually got to use it much but so far so good. It fast charges my S22 Ultra (this is using the super fast charger, it does NOT super fast charge with this adapter.

I needed this to use with a headphone splitter (music + Headphone jack) and it works perfectly. If ur wanting a true head phone splitter to “DJ” using ur iPad and a speaker, this cord works well along with the traktor headphone splitter cord.
If ur wanting to just charge ur device and listen to music with wired headphones/ear buds this works great too, but there are other dongles you can choose from. I personally like this because it’s less bulky than the boxy hard ones and doesn’t look cheap. Didn’t notice any real sound issues. Will update if I find an issue after using this for a while.

2021 iPad Pro - Slight Hum, Quiet

Significantly quieter than Apple’s USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, but gets the job done. There a slight hum whilst charging as well, the Apple Multimedia USB-C/HDMI/USB AV adapter with a USB to USB-C adapter feeding Apple’s 3.5mm USB-C adapter has zero noise and is far, far louder than this aftermarket adapter. Only downside is you’re forced to double up on heat shrink cord protection because Apple products are built with planned obsolescence (their cords fray by design, to force you to purchase replacements). My AV adapter stopped working out of the blue and I figured I’d give this a try, I play PUBGM professionally, tournaments & streaming is a source of income for myself, so I take quality seriously.

The Apple AV adapter is better if you’re a gamer and need to hear footsteps, but the AV adapter is a headache with the brobdingnagian amount of adapters required to get it to function whilst charging. The Apple AV adapter will reset the audio output if you breathe on it or even look at it wrong, if you’re mirroring HDMI, which, if you’re a streamer, will make you go bald.

I can't speak on the charging side of things but I bought this because I recently upgraded from my Samsung S7 which had a 3.5mm audio jack and I needed an adapter for wired headphones and AUX input for the car (which has no bluetooth audio).
Wired headphones - Even at max phone volume, the audio is appalling and incredibly quiet. Never had issues with these headphones on my previous phone using audio jack.
Car AUX input - It's very quiet, and becomes distorted/cuts out at high volume so you have to put up with listening to music at a low volume (for reference, I do not listen to music at an insanely loud volume either, I think my car's volume goes to 30 and I rarely had to go above 14 previously). Vocals can barely be heard behind guitars etc. so every song sounds like it's been badly mixed, it's really not good.
I first bought the Apple USB-C to audio jack adapter as my partner's iPhone sounds perfect in the car and I read that adapter also works well with Android phones. That was worse than this, but I wouldn't advise getting this either if you have audio in mind & own a Samsung phone. Maybe it works better with iPhone, not sure.
It's a shame that with removing the audio jack from phones, they don't give us an alternative that allows the same quality for audio (or even somewhere close)... other than buying wireless bluetooth headphones and I guess, buying a new car stereo in my case, wtf. No.

I advise anyone thinking to upgrade from a phone with an audio jack to a newer USB-C phone and thinking they can just "buy an adapter and problem solved" DON'T!
