Initial Impressions
Shipping was very fast and the packaging was easy to deal with. Had the headphones out in moments and connected to the charger for a quick top-off before first use. To be honest, when I opened the package I was a bit put off by the extremely short charging cable included in the box. Fortunately I have several charging cables for other devices around the house so getting them charged wasn't an issue.
I know these headphones are designed for wireless charging but I don't currently have a way to charge them that way. So, it was a disappointment to find such a short cable in the box. Fortunately, after getting around that minor issue, the rest of my experience with the headphones was extrtemely positive.
Fit and Finish
As much as I like Apple products, I'm not a fan of white accessories. Fortunately, I don't have that issue with these headphones as they come in a dark grey aluminum, which I really like. As far as fit is concerned, I have decent-sized ears and the headphones fit perfectly and felt snug, but not tight. And unlike the Apple earbuds I didn't feel these would fall out if I moved my head around too much.
Connection to Devices
Connecting to both my iPhone and MacBook Pro was very simple. You just open the headphone case and the device will appear in your list of available Bluetooth devices. Select it and you are paired and ready to go. I paired and un-paired several times with both devices to test this out and it worked flawlessly each time.
Sound Quality
Having used Apple earbuds for well over a year I can say the sound quality from these is superior. I tried a variety of music genres, as well as a few podcasts, and the sound is fuller with more definition and bass and had no noticeable distortion. In short, it's very good and better than any other headphones of this type I've tried before.
Sound quality was also good during several phone calls and zoom meetings where the headphones were the sole means of listening and speaking during calls. The dual mics worked perfectly during the calls and while on zoom. No issues there at all.
The Oddict App
I didn't spend too much time with this as I felt the sound quality I was getting out of the box was excellent, so I didn't feel the need to adjust it at all. Still, this is a nice option for those who do find it necessary to make some adjustments to the sound.
Battery Life
On a full charge I got close to the three hours of music playing time advertised before I needed to recharge. That's pretty good and about what i expected. Using the headphones during calls and when on zoom for close to two hours the battery didn't run out, so I have no reason to expect the battery life in these situations wouldn't also be as advertised.
Conclusion
I like these headphones. During the short time I've had them they've performed as well or better than the ones I have from Apple. They do the same job and look better, in my opinion. They're also less expensive than Apple's offering with similar features/specs. If, like me, you're looking for an alternative to Apple's earbuds, or just want great-sounding headphones with lots of features and good value, give these a try.
I am amending this review after experiencing Oddict's customer service first hand. They promptly replaced my earbuds and were very polite. For that, I commend them highly. However, the only issue that was addressed with my replacement pair was the ease of the connectivity with my device, and the distortion of the left driver. I was hoping I had just received a defective pair my first time around, but this second pair still has the following issues:
- Static/Radio sound on right earbud, this is an incredibly unacceptable problem with $150 earbuds. This doesn't even happen with $50 earbuds from Aukey.
- Earbuds pause my sound if they move even slightly within my ear... meaning the light sensors are WAY too sensitive
- Earbuds fall out of sync with each other, or with my phone entirely. This requires a full product reset. This happened every 2 days or so.
- The mic on these for calls is not good at all. Even by headphone mic standards.
Neutral Comments:
- Case build quality can greatly improve. This weak latch is just bad engineering.
- You have to make an account to use the app, which is required to make these earbuds sound good.
- Battery life is somewhat industry standard
Positives:
- Beautiful design, and fit on the ears it great
- Sound quality is good, but requires the EQ app. This is all negated by the fact there is persistent audible static during listening.
Verdict:
These are half-baked earbuds, and quite frankly a bad value at $150. Given the beautiful design, and excellent customer service from Oddict, this makes my whole experience bitter sweet– but I cannot recommend these in good conscience to everyday consumers. If you value the aesthetics more than functionality then go support Oddict. I do think it's worth supporting a freshman company if you believe in it. Just be wary of the present issues.
Note to the company: I'll be the first to buy another pair if you release a second generation- that's how good your design is. If the noted issues are permanently, fixed you guys will make a killing with these.

ORIGINAL REVIEW, Dec 2020
I just want to start off this review by saying I am open to amending this review. I would love to see this product succeed but based on my current experience they have a long way to go. I’m running iOS FYI.
First issue: connecting to bluetooth took far too long. About 8 minutes until the unit finally sent a signal to my phone. After hard resetting the unit, this problem went away. You may have a more seamless experience out of the box but I did not.
Second issue: there is an consistent slightly high pitch hum on the right earbud. Sounds almost like an FM signal losing connection. It is audible at most audio levels while listening to music. It blends at normal audio levels but you can still hear it enough to bother you. Ridiculous this is an issue with such a pricey set of earbuds. I’ve tested these in different locations to avoid interference from other devices and the problem remains. But frankly they shouldn’t have this issue in any no matter what.
Third issue: after a few hours of use, the left ear bud connects but does not play music/audio. I only get audio playing from the right earbud. After hard resetting the device connection came back to both earbuds for a few uses. I am having the same issue again. Hard resetting solves most problems but isn’t a long term fix.
Fourth issue: The earbuds drop audio when RECEIVING a phone call, and play sounds through the phone instead. But if I place a phone call, the audio works! Then, the microphone does not work rendering these useless for any calls. I tested on an android device for good measure and it is the same lol
Fifth issue: the driver on the left earbud distorts during songs with deep bass. After pressing the earbud in my ear the distortion went away. However it is present intermittently. I have no idea what would cause this other than a loose cone or driver magnet. This doesn’t happen with any other earbud I’ve ever owned.
Sixth (minor) issue: I need to sign up for an account to use the app. I don’t see the purpose of this and just seems like more data collection. I personally don’t have a major problem about this, but I can imagine others will. The app great otherwise.
Some other minor complaints, but not deal breakers: the finish on the case is a fingerprint magnet in the most unflattering way. The closing mechanism on the case feels VERY weak and the plastic in the interior of the lid feels cheap... almost like coffee cup lid plastic. If you’ve owned any good set of earbuds you know a charge case should feel solid and snappy. This case does not. I cannot imagine this case would last long with anyone who isn’t super careful with their devices. And I doubt it would survive a drop from 4 feet.
Some positives: for the short period the earbuds worked they sounded great. Probably the best I’ve heard. The fit and finish on the earbuds themselves feel fantastic. They fit better than AirPods. The product design and packaging presentation gives a premium feel. Once you actually use the these earbuds all of the beautify of this product goes out the window. One last positive is the app. The app is well designed and has some great functions,, such as locating your earbuds and sending a audio signal so you can hear them while searching for them. The EQ is simple to use and allows you to customize the sound to your needs. The app was probably the best part of my experience. It’s clean and easy to use.
I will be happy to amend this review at a later date but for now this is my experience. I have contacted ODDICT so let’s see how the customer service works out. For now, I’d avoid buying these and opt for something tried and true such as Master and Dynamic, Apple, Bang and Olufsen, Sony, or Sennheiser. All of which make good quality wireless devices with decent sound quality.
