Acoustics built and sound great.
I like the acoustics that the product is built in with. When watching videos the sound is amplified which is great for using outdoors or in areas with a lot of noise. The only reason I did not give a five star review it's because I would've liked the product to be a little bit heavier. As I am outside using the product the wind it's starting to move the stand and my phone and I feel that if the wind was a little bit higher it would blow over. Other than that and has a great bamboo look it feels nice and smooth and it's just big enough so that it is easily transportable.

My iPhone 5s isn't as wide as some so I hacked off a piece of my granddaughter's crayon to fill the extra space in the slot. That assures that the speaker is positioned properly, speaker over hole. My phone, maybe yours?, has the power socket next to the speaker, so the phone can't be plugged in when using this.

When driving my honda accord - it is loud inside due to not being a very well (sound) insulated vehicle. I also have trouble hearing sounds, people talking, etc - when there is a lot of background noise. I bought this very simple cell phone as a "passive (unpowered) speaker". To me its not a "cell phone stand", as I put my phone in my car cup holder and put this over the top (which is the bottom) of the phone to hear it louder. It allows me to play a youtube video (I only need to listen to the video) and the video is now loud enough for me to hear above the noise of the car (road noise from tires, wind etc,) coming into the car. Sometimes when the road is roughy, its not loud enough, but for most rides its perfect!

If you have even a thick screen protector -- let alone a shatterproof case to protect your phone -- it will not fit. Otherwise, beautiful! I am hesitant to return because it is so pretty. Maybe I'll add it to our wood selection for carpentry projects in the garage. Maybe if I dig out my router, I can get the slot wide enough to hold a phone that is used everyday rather than a stay-in-one place phone?

Obviously this doesn't turn your smartphone into a boom box, but for me it boosts the levels just enough to listen to a podcast in the next room over or while in the shower. I wish there were some way to incorporate a charger cord, but my next phone will have wireless charging, so I guess it won't matter. Overall I'd say it's a neat device for audio geeks and it definitely works as long as you keep your expectations realistic.
