Good sound and ANC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Controls are a little confusing. The ANC and music clarity/bass is slightly better than Sony's chn-700n. The ear cups are smaller than the sony chn-700n but has thicker padding.

Great performance at a great price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tested Bose headphones for$350 and these are very nearly as good. I sit next to the help desk and it nearly eliminates the noise. I'd buy them again!

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it! It's been five years since I have had it. It wasn't overused. It is still in use. I didn't have time to order ear pods Positive The battery still works great Audio quality didn't change The plastics didn't fade or cracked Buttons works Connecting easily The quick connection between devices Negative Ear Pods last for four years Noise cancellation seems over when it's on. Its have high pitch noise. Overall, it lasted long five years. The noise cancellation probably ended with a drop. I recommend it to everybody. I will buy it in the future Sennheiser products.

Excellent headphones that won't break the bank!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For decades, I've been seeking out high quality headphones who's price-tag does not reach into the three-digit range. To date, the Sennheiser HD 4.50 set is the most expensive headphones I've ever bought ($90.99 on clearance), but between it's performance over the past month and it's built-in features, it's proven to be worth the expense. Excellent sound reproduction? Check! Noise cancellation? Check! A good microphone for online chat? Check! Long battery life? Check! Wireless and wired function? Check! It's that last part I really like. If I feel like it, I can walk around my room and listen wirelessly. If I'm watching video in front of my laptop or somewhere I can't use Bluetooth (airplanes, for example) I can plug in directly. Even when I'm plugged in, I can choose to engage the noise cancellation, which uses very little power, or if the battery is low, I can still use them as normal headphones. Another nice touch…the male end that plugs into the headset can be locked into place with a little twist, so accidentally unseating it would be difficult at best. Overall, these have proven themselves to be a great bang for my buck!

Great treble, bass a little lacking
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Price (5/5): I bought this HD 4.5 black/red during Black Friday sale and at the price I bought it for, it is definitely worth the price I paid. Sound quality (4/5): The HD 4.5 provides excellent sound with emphasis on the treble. I am in no way an audiophile but sometimes I can feel a little more bass would have made this a much better and more balanced headphone. Item quality (5/5): The black/red is a beauty. The feel is pretty solid and high quality. I've used it for one month and have not run into any problems with consistency. The size of the earphone is perfect for my ears (2.75 inches) and is very comfortable. I can use the headphone for hours at a time with no feeling of discomfort. Software (3/5): The bluetooth pairing process is pretty straightforward to my laptop. Unfortunately, there is no app to make personalized controls according to personal preference. There is also no way to determine the exact % battery life on the device. The headphone does remind you to charge if it feels the battery life is low. Customization is definitely an area for improvement. Final verdict (4/5): Overall the item is excellent for what it does. If bass and customization are not important for your ears, the HD 4.5 provides high comfort audio support for any devices that is bluetooth-compatible.

Great buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These beat out 2 other pairs (See below) that I tried before finding them. They fit well (I have a small head as a female) but do start to bother me after a full 8 hour day of conference calls. The sound is crisp and there is a great volume range. I am severely hearing impaired but still have room at the top end to turn up the volume if needed. The noise canceling could be a bit better, and a bass boost would be nice, but was willing to sacrifice that for the crispness. I use these primarily for business conference calls so that I can hear better. They are not Bose, but really do come close - and for $89 verses $299, it was a no-brainer. Came with a soft pouch case - would have been nice if they came with a hard shell case. Control buttons are not very intuitive, but not complicated once you read the instructions. Would be 5 star if the ear foams were softer and better at noise canceling and they came packaged with a hard shell case. Tried and returned Skull Candy Model S6CRW-K591 ($89) - noise canceling wasn’t great and they didn’t fit well. Ran really small, even for my tiny size 6 head. (I’m female). Not comfortable and sound was not clear. Maxed out the volume range and still had a difficult time understanding conversation. Bass boost was too much, but without it everything was tinny sounding. They didn’t last 10 minutes before being packed back up for return. Did have a nice hard shell case. Also tried Anker Soundcore Life 2 Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with Case. ($69) They were super comfortable and the noise canceling was very good. But the sound wasn’t crisp and they ran a bit large. They kept falling off. Volume range and bass were decent. Biggest issue was that the blue tooth connection was continually dropping. Might have kept these if they would have stayed on my head, stayed connected and I hadn’t compared the sound quality to the Sennheiser. Nice-hard shell case.

Quality wireless sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for sound quality to match my decade+ old pair of AKG Pro headphones but give me the ability to wirelessly connect with modern sound sources in the process. After looking at a a few options, I settled on this model. The brand is one that I've been familiar with for nearly 30 years, having at one point a long time ago grabbed a set of phones meant to be a significant upgrade to the ones shipped by Sony with a WalkMan. These did not disappoint. I found them comfortable to wear with good sound and reasonable range and excellent battery life. The quibble I would have is that they do seem to get a bit "warm" on your ears after a long enough time. the closed back does reduce outside annoyance and the pads are a dense comfortable foam, but that does lead to not much "air" getting in to counter a little sweating under the leather covering of the cup. All told? good value for the money.

Excellent value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a great value at their recently discounted price. The sound is balanced and very good (rivaling witless Bose). Battery life is quite good. They are comfortable. Controls work well. I’ve had no connectivity problem. The only things distinguishing them from more expensive models are build quality ( more plastic) and a slightly weaker noise canceling ability.

Q: QuestionI cannot get any sounds when using the cable. Bluetooth is ok. I can't find an answer anywhere. I tried resetting the power button. Any help appreciated
Asked by Greg.
- A:Answer There is a weird quirk with the cable that they don't call out to enough in their instructions. Look at the end that should connect to the headphones. You will see that there are nubs for locking in the headphone end. You may need to rotate the headphone-side part of the cable while pushing in until you can feel it go deeper. You can then try rotating more, potentially in both directions to get the right one, and it should lock. The strange thing is that the headphones will recognize you have jacked in the cable even when they haven't reached maximum depth for locking in. It'll still disable all the wireless things like turning on of the headphones and the sound buttons even when the headphones are essentially unusable. I was so convinced I had a defective product that I ended up foolishly exchanging mine. Some articles that I hadn't found in my first search pointed me the right way. Hopefully that helps. If Sennheiser reads this, make your start-up instructions for plug-in vs. bluetooth clearer. Putting the lock-in instructions off to an easily dismissed corner will cause a lot of grief and hurt your brand when they think the headphones don't work for cable.

Q: QuestionIf the headphone run out of the battery, can I still use it while charging it?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer When charging the Bluetooth turns off but they still work with the audio cable. Seems an odd design decision to turn Bluetooth off when you have external power but that's how they are. I used them on a flight across the pacific for 13 hours both on battery and while charging.

Q: QuestionHow do I connect them to iPad Pro.. It's not showing Sennheiser in blue tooth.
Asked by JohnA.
- A:Answer Try setting the headphones to pairing mode: 1) Turn off headphones 2) Hold the power button for 5-10 seconds until the light alternates between blue and red (the headphones are now in pairing mode) 3) Go to the bluetooth settings on your ipad to connect

Q: QuestionAre the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC headphones compatible with PlayStation 4 ?
Asked by Mary.
- A:Answer In short, no. When connected to the PS4 controller via the aux cable, they are not detected as either a microphone or alternate audio output source. The headphones suspend button functions while hardwired as part of the design so these are not really a gaming option. Better off using these as part of a home theatre solution

Q: QuestionI like to connect to a TV. Will that be possible and advised
Asked by Stuke5.
- A:Answer Yes, very possible. You will need a Bluetooth transmitter if your TV does not have functionality built in. I'm using an Avantree Priva III. Works great.

Q: QuestionCan they still be used when charging? I have a series of long flights and do not want them to die.
Asked by Kris.
- A:Answer Cannot play while charging but battery lasts more than 24 hours and charges fast, so you may manage between flights with an external battery.

Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer if you plug in the cable it recognizes the connection and turns off the Bluetooth
