A new look at the Droid X2

Motorola Droid X2Android Central has gotten its hands on some new images of the upcoming Motorola Droid X2. The photo quality isn’t anything to get excited about, and they don’t reveal anything new since the supposedly leaked pictures we got a look at in February.  The device will allegedly launch during the second quarter, and that’s about all we know. There are varying reports about its specs but just for the sake of Droid love, here are the latest:

  • Android 2.2.2 (Froyo)
  • HDMI output, Micro USB port
  • 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash

Otherwise, the device is nearly identical to the original Droid X. Its specs (from what we’ve heard thus far) are pretty similar as well, which might get you wondering what exactly is new and different about the Droid X2. There’s no hint as to whether it will run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, but it seems fairly safe to assume it will. For anything else, we’ll keep our ear to ground on new details and of course, keep waiting for the phone’s official announcement in the Motorola lineup. Until then, enjoy.

Poco’s X4 Pro will look familiar to fans of another phone
Poco X4 Pro cameras close up.

Poco, the smartphone company that started out life as a part of Xiaomi but has since mostly gone its own way, has announced the Poco X4 Pro 5G, a midrange phone with a truly monster camera. But before you start thinking this an all-new, never-seen-before smartphone from Poco, understand that it's only new on the outside, because inside it appears to be identical to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. This is the first time Poco has joined in the fun with a new phone at Mobile World Congress, the industry trade show taking place in Spain this week.

The Poco X4 Pro certainly has an eye-catching look due to the huge camera module taking up almost a third of the back panel, and it comes in two very bright colors: Laser Blue and Poco Yellow. You can settle on a basic Laser Black version if you’re not much of an extrovert, though. Once you’re past the look of the phone, the specifications will be familiar to anyone who has looked at the Mi 11 Pro 5G.

Garmin’s new D2 Air X10 adds voice controls for $550
A pilot wearing Garmin's Air X10 watch

Garmin today introduced a new smartwatch aimed at pilots and people who love flying. With the Garmin D2 Air X10, a successor to the older D2 Air, the company has built a typical smartwatch experience with a discrete aviation mode that builds in features that pilots would find necessary as well as added a little extra on the top.

The Garmin D2 Air X10 has one major upgrade over the previous D2 Air model -- the inclusion of voice functionality. Allowing pilots to keep their hands free while on the go, the D2 Air X10 can now be used in tandem with your phone's digital assistant, (Siri or Google Assistant depending on whether you use iOS or Android) to dictate texts and ask the typical queries you'd want to know as an air enthusiast. With a starting price of $550, it's probably worth considering if the existing Garmin D2 Air is a better fit with its $500 price point.
