CES 2006 Profile: Memorex

Memorex was showing off two new USB accessories at CES 2006 which promise to remove computers from the equation when it comes to transferring content and data between items like digital cameras and external hard drives. The new TravelLink ($79.99) and TravelSync ($59.99) will be available this month.

The TravelLink allows consumers to move media files and data between two USB mass storage devices, two flash cards or between a flash card and a USB mass storage device using its two USB connection ports and two card slots. The TravelSync does the same, but limits to two USB mass storage devices only via its two USB connection ports. Both devices sport a LCD screen and user interface to help in selecting what files to transfer, delete or copy. Power is provided by three AAA batteries.

The TravelLink can also act as an 8-in-1 flash card reader when hooked to a PC and supports CF I, CF II, SD, SM, MMC, MS, MS Pro and MS Duo memory card formats.
