Of course, getting the best of the best is going to be pricey, which is why we’re happy to see this deal from Dell that knocks it down to $3,200 from the original $3,800, which is still quite pricey, but the $600 discount is well worth it.

Why you should buy the Alienware m18 R2

This configuration of the Alienware m18 R2 comes with an RTX 4090 mobile, although it is worth mentioning that mobile GPUs tend to be a step down from the desktop versions, so this is closer to the performance of an RTX 4080. Even so, that’s still a powerful card, especially since this laptop runs an 18-inch QHD resolution, while the RTX 4080 is close to a 4K GPU, so you’ll easily hit 60-80fps with the highest graphical settings on the latest games. Interestingly, the screen can go up to 165Hz refresh rate, so if you want to prioritize that for things like competitive games, you can absolutely do that, too.

Besides that, you get the latest Intel Core i9 14900HX processor, which will easily handle whatever you throw at it; plus, you can even get into Twitch or YouTube streaming, which is a nice bonus. The whopping 64GB of RAM is also an incredible bonus and will help with things like streaming software, programming, CAD work, and pretty much anything you can think of. At this point, the 2TB of storage almost seems miniscule in comparison to the other specs, even though it’s still pretty powerful. That said, you can certainly expand on that with one of these external hard drive deals or internally with one of these SSD deals.

Overall, it’s not hard to say that this configuration of the Alienware m18 R2 is probably one of the best gaming laptops you’re going to get, and while it’s still pricey at $3,200, the $600 discount from Dell is also pretty substantial. That said, if you feel that maybe the Alienware m18 R2 is out of your budget, be sure to check out some of these other great gaming laptop deals.

Microsoft is adding a warning for users who start replying to an older email after a newer response has arrived in the same conversation. The alert is meant to stop people from replying without seeing the latest information in the thread.

Google just changed how it grades the AI models you use for Android coding
Android Bench has a new testing framework and eight new models, so the rankings you remember are now out of date.
Android Bench featured.

Google just changed how it measures which AI models are best at writing Android app code, and the update has shuffled the rankings developers use to pick their tools. The company's Android Bench leaderboard, which launched in March, now runs on a new testing system called Harbor. Google says this replaces the older, more generic testing tool it used before, and gives a better read on how models perform on real Android tasks, like updating old code to Jetpack Compose or handling wearable device networking.

ChatGPT is coming for one of Google’s smartest Chrome features
OpenAI brings ChatGPT to Chrome to challenge Google's Gemini Side Panel
OpenAI

OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT beyond its website with the launch of a new Chrome extension that can understand the contents of the webpage you're viewing. The extension allows users to ask questions about a page, summarize articles, explain complex concepts, and even kick off longer AI-powered tasks without leaving their browser.

The move positions ChatGPT as a direct competitor to Google's Gemini in Chrome, which introduced similar context-aware browsing features earlier this year. While both tools aim to bring AI directly into web browsing, they take slightly different approaches to productivity and automation.
