Dell’s UltraSharp 32 HDR takes on Apple’s ProDisplay with 2,000 mini-LED zones

Designed for creative professionals and boasting rich color accuracy, Dell’s new 31.5-inch UltraSharp 32 HDR PremierColor (UP3221Q) display boasts over 2,000 mini-LED backlit dimming zones on its IPS panel to bring deep blacks and bright whites. And priced at $5,000 when it goes on sale on November 5, the UltraSharp 32 HDR goes after the same creative audience that rival Apple is targeting with its ProDisplay XDR. Although both panels share a similar diagonal measurement, Apple’s monitor ships with a higher 6K resolution whereas the UltraSharp comes in at 4K.

The Dell’s 4K, 60Hz panel covers 99.8% of the wide DCI-P3 color space, can reach 1,000 nits of brightness, and supports the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 specification with excellent HDR quality. With Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, you can easily daisy chain two of these panels together for an even larger, more immersive digital canvas. Those who need additional color accuracy can rely on the built-in Calman Powered colorimeter for on-demand calibration.

It is priced at $1,199 when it ships on December 1.

And if you want to quickly add audio without desktop clutter to an existing Dell monitor, the company now offers a plug-and-play magnetic soundbar that can easily mount to the P-series monitor and the UltraSharp 24. The magnetic mount mechanism allows the monitor to tilt, rotate, and pivot without the soundbar getting in the way. It comes with 3.6-watt speakers, and Dell’s plug-and-play mechanism requires no drivers or software. The Dell Slim Soundbar retails for $55 and is available now.

Bid farewell to this small but helpful Windows 11 feature
The Surface Pro 11 on a white table in front of a window.

As Microsoft mentions in a December 12 blog post, Windows 11 users will soon no longer receive future updates for the suggested actions menu. The helpful feature would offer you related actions when you copy items like dates or phone numbers with actions to create an event or make a call.

Microsoft first introduced the feature in a Windows 11 2022 update. It made the suggested actions menu appear and gave contextual information based on the copied data. Microsoft describes the feature as follows: "Suggested actions that appear when you copy a phone number or future date in Windows 11 are deprecated and will be removed in a future Windows 11 update."

We’ve picked out one of our very favorites: the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 is down to $1,080.
