There’s no shortage of gaming laptop deals out there, but not all of them are worth your hard-earned cash. Here’s a budget-friendly offer from Best Buy that we highly recommend — the HP Victus 15 with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card for only $650, following a $250 discount on its original price of $900. The stocks that are up for sale may run out at any moment though, so if you’re interested in making this device your next gaming machine, you should complete your transaction for it right now.

Why you should buy the HP Victus 15 gaming laptop

The HP Victus 15 isn’t going to challenge the top-tier models of the best gaming laptops in terms of performance, but it’s definitely a solid machine, especially when you take into account its discounted price. With the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card pairing with the AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS processor and 16GB of RAM, you’ll be able to play the best PC games without any issues. You can’t run demanding titles at their highest settings, but that’s an acceptable trade-off for a gaming laptop at this price.

The 15.6-inch Full HD screen of the HP Victus 15 is just the right size to enjoy the graphics of modern titles while still maintaining portability, and its 144Hz refresh rate means you won’t be frustrated by lag and image ghosting. The gaming laptop also comes with a 512GB SSD for ample storage space for several video games, Windows 11 Home so that you can start installing them right after unboxing, and Omen AI for automatic adjustments to create the best gameplay experience.

The HP Victus 15 is an excellent choice for gamers who want the best bang for their buck, especially now that you can get this configuration with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card at $250 off. From $900, it’s down to just $650, which is a great price for a device with these capabilities. You’re going to have to hurry with your purchase though, as the HP Victus 15 gaming laptop may be back to its regular price as soon as tomorrow.

Google has finally put a date on the next major step for Googlebook, its upcoming premium laptop platform designed around Gemini and a native Android codebase. The company will host an in-person media showcase in New York City on September 15, 2026, where it plans to reveal more about the software and hardware behind the platform.

Google first introduced Googlebook alongside Android 17 at The Android Show earlier this year. Details were limited at the time, but the company demonstrated Gemini-powered features including custom widgets, Magic Pointer and deeper connections between Googlebooks and Android phones.

Viture Pro 2 smart glasses

Quick summary

Two years ago, I had the chance to test out the Viture Pro smart glasses. I was impressed by the chic design and the stunning display units, but there were a few minor hiccups that kept them from becoming an instant buy for XR fans. The asking price of $459, ultimately, made them a tough recommendation for anyone who is not a diehard enthusiast or doesn't have the spare cash to spend. The successor, however, is an altogether different beast.

Your Mac might have a screen sharing problem, and hackers already know about it
A patch is only useful once you install it.
macOS Tahoe 26 public beta running on the M4 MacBook Air 15

If you've been putting off that macOS update sitting in your notifications, this is the week to stop and install it.

Apple quietly patched a serious screen sharing flaw in macOS earlier this month. While that usually means the issue is resolved, new evidence shows hackers already broke into unpatched Macs, hijacked them, and used them for cryptocurrency mining before the fix shipped.
