Best Prime Day Amazon Deals
This story is part of the Digital Trends Prime Day 2026 coverage
Updated less than 1 hour ago

If you’ve been keeping up with recent laptop launches, you’ve probably noticed just how expensive they’ve become. Laptop prices have been climbing for the past year, and there’s little indication that they’re coming down anytime soon. That makes the ongoing Prime Day 2026 sale an exceptionally good time to buy a new laptop.

Many of the discounts apply to devices at or near their original launch prices, making the savings more meaningful. I’ve sifted through several Amazon Prime Day laptop deals, but only these five hold up at their discounted prices. To make things easier for you, I’ve arranged them from the most affordable option to the most expensive.

Asus Vivobook 16

Starting with one of the most affordable 16GB RAM and Snapdragon X-based Windows laptops, the Asus Vivobook 16 could be an excellent daily machine for attending online classes or lectures, going through emails, working with Word files or PDFs, streaming videos or movies online, and other daily digital chores.

I say that because it’s available at a Prime Day price of $499.99, making it a no-brainer for students and teachers, working professionals, or simply as a common household laptop. What makes the deal even better is 512GB of built-in storage and a battery that should easily last around eight to 10 hours of usage.

ProsCons
Large 16-inch displayNot the brightest display
Capable yet efficient chipsetNot suited for gamers or heavy users
On-device AI featuresLimited ports
Enough RAM and storage for most users
Easily lasts an entire day of usage
Great value for money

Acer Aspire 14 AI Copilot+ Laptop

Moving up the price ladder, I recommend the Acer Aspire 14-inch AI Copilot+ laptop for three good reasons. First, despite sporting 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, it is up for grabs for $589.99. Second, it features the Intel Core Ultra 7 (256V) processor and a powerful NPU, providing on-device AI capabilities (hence the Copilot+ laptop title).

Apart from a compact build (that houses a 14-inch LCD screen) and an all-day battery, this comes with four USB ports, one HDMI port, two USB-4 ports, and one headphone jack. In other words, you won’t have to splurge on getting a USB hub for this one. It even supports Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless connectivity, making it one of the best laptops under $600 on the market.

ProsCons
Lightweight and portableAverage screen quality
Fast for everyday tasksNot the best trackpad in the segment
All-day battery lifeNot for heavy users or content creators
On-device AI features
Plenty of I/O ports
4.7-star rating on Amazon

Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 2024

The only 2-in-1 laptop to have earned its spot in my best Prime Day laptop deals is Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2-in-1 (2024). If you want the freedom of carrying a capable tablet for reading, streaming, and touch-based tasks like sketching or design work, while retaining the ability to tackle serious productivity when paired with its keyboard, this is the one I recommend.

Yes, you have to get the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard and Surface Slim Pen separately, but that’s where the $478 difference between last week’s price ($1,347) and the current all-time low Amazon Prime Day sale price ($869.99) comes in handy, applicable on the baseline variant with 256GB of storage.

It’s light, it’s sleek, it fits small backpacks due to its compact form factor (with a 13-inch screen), and it lasts around seven to 10 hours on a single charge. Despite being a 2024 model, this one comes equipped with enough horsepower to handle your daily workflow, thanks to the Snapdragon X Elite chip and 16GB of RAM.

ProsCons
Switch between tablet and laptop modeHidden keyboard and stylus costs
Smooth day-to-day performanceLimited ports
Bright and crisp OLED displayOnly one kickstand angle
All-day battery life
Value for money at a discounted price
4.4-star average rating on Amazon

Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 16-inch

One of Samsung’s most well-equipped and capable ultrabooks, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 16-inch, is available at an all-time low price of $1,199.99. At nearly half its $1,999.99 launch price, the machine is a steal of a deal for more reasons than you could possibly think.

The ultrabook offers a massive 16-inch Samsung AMOLED display, producing deep, inky blacks and vibrant colors. It can handle daily multitasking, casual gaming, and even light video editing with ease, thanks to the Intel Core Ultra 7 (256V) Lunar Lake processor. Last but not least, you get around 10 to 12 hours of battery life with light productivity or office work.

For context, Samsung recently launched the 16-inch Book6 Pro with a starting price of $2,199.99, with fewer upgrades than you’d think.

ProsCons
Brilliant Samsung AMOLED touchscreenHeavy usage takes a toll on the battery
120Hz screen refresh rateTouchscreen palm rejection acts up sometimes
Stylus included in the boxRuns loud under intensive workloads
Great performance with on-device AI features
Seamless connectivity with Samsung devices
Lightweight and portable
All-day battery life

Asus ROG Strix G18 2025

The Asus ROG Strix G18 2025 is the most expensive laptop in my Amazon Prime Day 2026 laptop picks, and it still costs $1,239.99, much less than what new laptops with similar configurations cost today. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants additional screen estate, a laptop for professional video editing or gaming, and doesn’t carry their laptop around much.

Among the primary reasons to include this one are its 18-inch 144Hz screen and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with DLSS 4 and Max-Q support. In a supporting role are the AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX mobile processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

The downsides of a huge screen and the capable GPU-CPU combination are only three to five hours of non-gaming battery life and a weight of 11.27 lbs. This makes the laptop less than ideal for buyers working on the go, but for everyone else, and especially users who don’t move around their laptop much, it scores excellently in the price-to-performance metric.

ProsCons
Smooth gaming performance up to 144HzIPS screen has its limitations
Plenty of screen real estate1TB of storage might fill up quickly
Fast and reliable performanceMissing the right Control key
Suitable for video editors and heavy usersReally heavy for carrying around

What makes a laptop effective for remote work?
Dell 14 Plus

This post is brought to you in paid partnership with Dell

Remote and hybrid work have changed what people expect from a laptop. Most professionals are no longer working from a single desk all day. A typical workflow now involves morning Zoom or Microsoft Teams calls, browser tabs running alongside Slack and email, and moving between home, the office, cafés, and even airports without disrupting productivity.
