The Windows 11 taskbar is getting an important new update

Microsoft is working on new experiences for Windows that will allow developers to enable pinning for third-party applications, as well as enable pinning to the Taskbar.

Microsoft recently announced the details of these upcoming functions in a blog post. This is the brand's attempt to universalize its pinning process across all apps used on Windows. In practice, it will be similar to how pinning works on the Edge browser, with the Windows 11 users being notified by the Action Center about a request for pinning to the Taskbar by the app in question.

Malware has a terrible new way to get to your computer

You've heard of malware spreading through spammy emails and mysterious links on strange websites. But now there's a new avenue of attack for bad actors to take -- and it's via Minecraft. Yes, you read it correctly. The open-world building game loved by seven-year-olds around the globe is quickly becoming a favorite method for spreading malware.

As reported by Bleeping Computer, Kaspersky Labs researched the phenomena from July 2021 until July 2022, and it found that in-game malware accounted for a significant amount of the malware that was spread in that time. Although there was a 30% drop in malware attacks in that year when compared to 2020, the amount of gaming-related malware actually increased. Minecraft on PC was the preferred vector.

Snapchat Plus subscribers are getting these four new features today

Snapchat's premium subscription service, Snapchat Plus, has only been around for about a month and a half and it's already getting new features added to it.

On Monday, Snapchat announced that it would be adding four new "exclusive features" to Snapchat Plus. Beginning today, the $4-per-month service includes the following features: Post View Emojis, Priority Story Replies, exclusive Bitmoji backgrounds, and new app icons.
