The CES 2026 show floor is packed with all kinds of devices, from questionably practical to amazingly innovative. And yeah, heaps of concept devices, too. As usual, devices with next-gen display tech drew a lot of attention, and this year, it was TCL that powered two of the most promising devices that might soon land on the shelves.

A foldable for the masses?

Motorola revealed its first book-style foldable phone at the show, and this one could again rewrite the rules for the market. Featuring a flexible 8.1-inch 2K LTPO panel supplied by TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (TCL CSOT), the device stood out with its sleek build and signature looks.

The latest offering from the Lenovo-owned brand, dubbed the Razr Fold, packs a 6.6-inch external screen, a trio of 50-megapixel cameras at the back, and a top-tier Qualcomm silicon. But what truly sets the device apart, hopefully, is the asking price.

Now, Motorola hasn’t officially revealed the asking price of its upcoming foldable phone, but if the history of clamshell-style Razr phones is anything to go by, this one’s going to undercut the foldable phones offered by the likes of Google and Samsung, among others.

An absurdly practical gaming laptop

When it comes to gaming, bigger is always better. However, beyond the 17-inch form factor, you won’t get many mainstream options in the gaming laptop segment. It would be unwise to make anything bigger because it would beat the whole purpose of a mobile gaming station.

Lenovo and TCL have other plans. Say hello to the Legion Pro Rollable Concept, a gaming laptop that comes equipped with a rollable Lenovo PureSight OLED Gaming display. In the normal state, you get a 16-inch display for work and play.

But thanks to the built-in dual motors, the display expands from both sides, first reaching a 21.5-inch canvas, and then expanding further into a wide-format 24-inch screen tailored for immersive gaming. It’s also packed to the gills with Intel’s top-tier silicon and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics.

Can AI audiobooks narrate better than humans? This study says many listeners think so
New study finds listeners favor AI narrated audiobooks over traditional human narration in blind testing.

You might assume most listeners would pick a real human voice over a synthetic one, but a new study says otherwise. Edison Research at SSRS surveyed 1,005 fiction audiobook fans in May 2026 for a study commissioned by AI audio company Spoken. The twist is that listeners rated the AI narration higher, and they did not even know it was AI until after they heard it (via Variety).

Gemini can make sense of the world around you, but don’t let it observe your children just yet
AI can spot what a child is doing, but figuring out what it means still takes a human expert

Google's Gemini models are becoming remarkably good at understanding videos, images, and conversations. A new study shows AI can even identify subtle behaviors in parent-child interactions with impressive accuracy. But here's the catch: while Gemini can reliably observe what is happening, researchers say it should not be trusted to decide what those behaviors actually mean.

Worth noting is that the study used Gemini 2.5 Pro, which is not Google's most advanced AI. That means future models could improve the results even further. Even so, the researchers argue that human experts remain essential.
