VisiKey, a developer of large-print keyboards for the visually impaired, earlier this week announced a new and improved keyboard model which is new fully Mac compatible and also has new management software. The VisiKey Enhanced Visibility Internet Keyboard Model 110-EVIK is priced at $39.95 and available now.
The Model 110-EVIK keyboard, said VisiKey, features high contrast large print keys which reportedly offer four times larger visibility than standard keyboards. Other new physical features of this keyboard include the adoption of a more traditional keyboard layout by standardizing the size of the enter key and increasing the size of the backspace key and upgraded plastics for a “heftier” feel.
On the software side, the Model 110-EVIK is now Mac compatible and programmable. Also updated is the keyboard management software which now allows the ability to further customize any of the 15 media keys to open any file or launch any program. Alternatively, if the user prefers, any or all buttons can be disabled.
