Motorola and VoIP provider Skype earlier this week announced a new Bluetooth kit which allows Skype users the ability to wirelessly listen to music and manage calls from a PC at the same time. The new Motorola Talk & Tunes Wireless Internet Calling Kit is expected to be available sometime during the first half of this year.
The Motorola Talk & Tunes Kit, said Motorola, consists of the Motorola Bluetooth Headset H500, PC Adapter PC850 and Skype software. This kit, which is “Skype-Certifiedâ€, works with Skype’s VoIP network for free unlimited Internet calling to other Skype users. With free roaming of up to 30 feet, the headset lets listeners hear music wirelessly, alerting them when someone calls via an automatic music pause.
“Little more than a year old, our alliance with Skype has already produced greater connectivity options for consumers,” said Bruce Hawver, vice president and general manager, Motorola, Inc., MobileME products, in a statement. “And, we’ve just gotten started. We will continue to push the limits on innovative products and solutions that make day-to-day mobile communication and entertainment effortless and enjoyable.”
