As per the official site, “Each Propel Star Wars battle Quad is extremely detailed, hand painted to model quality finish, certified, numbered and packed in a collectible display box.”
Though these drones rival meticulously built scale models, they were not designed to collect dust on a shelf. They are ready for battle. Laser battle. With up to 24 “pilots” going at it simultaneously.
The flying fighters can go from zero to 30 mph in three seconds, up to a top speed of “above 35 mph.” There are three speed setting to choose from, along with “Push button 360 aerial stunts.”
A “reverse propulsion system” is coupled with clear rotor blades that virtually disappear while the drones are in flight, adding to the experience and realism.

“You have the combination of something that’s really detailed and collectible, which really appeals to the true Star Wars fan, but it also performs,” Propel CEO Darren Matloff said, as reported by Wired. “That’s never happened before.”
Before you head on over to the official site to reserve one, Wired reports that they’re not available in North America just yet. The price is expected to be between $200 and $300. If you do reserve one, you just have to put in your information, but no payment details. Later on, you’ll be notified how to complete the purchase. In the meantime, you’ll have a numbered edition held aside for you, even if the product sells out.
