Think Outside Delivers New Boomtube

Think Outside, makers of the Stowaway Portable Mice and Keyboards for various handheld devices, yesterday announced the public availability of a new portable speaker system. The Boomtube H201 is priced at $199.99 and should be in stores shortly.

The Boomtube H201, Think Outside said, comes in a aluminum, tubular design and is the first portable speaker system to incorporate both a bass tube and twist off speakers. It features 2” aluminum speakers that reproduce sound in the mid and high ranges. The Boomtube also combines two bass drivers with MaxxBass technology for lower frequency bass reproduction.

Other features of the Boomtube H201 include a Lithium-ion battery which offers up to five hours of sound, a weight of just over three pounds, an included carrying case and 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter that will allow the speakers to work with mobile phones.

“The Boomtube H2O1 is the perfect accessory for iPod and music phone users who are looking for a portable speaker that sounds great,” said Gregvan den Dries, CEO and president of Think Outside. “Until now, people had to choose between great sound or portability, there just didn’t seem to be anything in the middle that combined great sound with portability. The Boomtube H2O1 has over 40 watts of power which is unheard of in portable speakers. Plus it’s got an integrated sub-woofer, detachable speakers for true stereo separation and an internal rechargeable lithium battery that last 5 hours. There really isn’t anything quite like it on the market.”
