Kanye West has no love for Apple. Or Spotify, apparently. But Jay Z? It’s a bromance.
Why? Because Kanye’s new album, The Life of Pablo, is dropping exclusively on Jay Z’s streaming service, Tidal. In a tweet, Kanye said “My album will never never never be on Apple, and it will never be for sale. You can only get it on Tidal.” Three nevers? Sounds pretty serious. Naturally, the Tidal app spiked to the top of Apple’s App store overnight, and in case you missed it, Beyonce is offering a free 90-day trial of Tidal, so in effect, you could listen to Life of Pablo… for free.
