Disney Plus Free Trial: Can you stream for free in 2024?

There’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that there is no Disney Plus free trial right now. In fact, there hasn’t been a free trial for several years. The good news is that there are some cheap options available. Below you’ll find a list of the tiers and their prices, from $8 per month for Disney Plus with ads, to $25 per month for Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN+ with no ads. Disney sometimes has a nice deal that gets you the basic plan for just $2 per month. Unfortunately that deal isn’t live right now, but we’ll keep you updated if it comes back.

Another way to save is through the Disney Bundle, which sees ESPN Plus and Hulu thrown in for just $15 a month. On their own, Disney Plus is normally $8 per month, Hulu is $8, and ESPN is $10, so this is a great deal.  If it sounds good to you, you should start your subscription now. The price of the Disney Bundle increased to $15 on October 12, 2023.

Don’t need ESPN Plus or Hulu? You can save a few bucks by signing up for Disney Plus for a year instead. An annual no-ads membership costs $140, which works out to two free months of the ad-free membership, or $28 per year. Put that money toward the next major Premier Access release.

Can you get Disney Plus for free?

So, there’s no Disney Plus free trial but can you still get Disney Plus for free? There are a few options out there depending on other services you may have. If you’re one of the lucky ones, you can be watching the best shows on Disney Plus in no time.

One great choice is via Verizon Wireless. If you sign up for either the Start Unlimited or the Do More Unlimited plan, you can get Disney Plus for free for six months. Sign up for the Play More Unlimited plan or the Get More Unlimited plan and you get the Disney Bundle offer for free including Disney Plus, ESPN+ and Hulu (with ads) for an unlimited time.

New customers for Verizon’s consumer Fios internet service also get a free year of Disney Plus with the offer extended to new and current Verizon 5G Home Internet customers.

In the past, services like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate have also included a month of Disney Plus if you’re already signed up to the game subscription service.

Are there any Disney Plus deals?

While none of these options are as cheap as a Disney Plus free trial, there are some good Disney Plus deals out there to get you watching the best movies on Disney Plus for less.

The most expensive method is to pay $8 each month, so it’s much cheaper to commit to an annual subscription. That deal costs $80 per year meaning you save $16 each year, effectively giving you two months of Disney Plus for free.

There’s also The Disney Bundle. This bundle gives you Disney Plus, Hulu (ad-supported), and ESPN+ for $15 per month. It works out as slightly cheaper than subscribing to each separately plus you get two extra streaming services in your life.

You can easily switch from watching the best Disney movies with the kids before trying out the best movies on Hulu once they’ve gone to bed.

Whatever your intentions, there’s a Disney Plus plan for you, provided you don’t mind spending a little to enjoy what Disney Plus can offer. It’s worth every cent.

Amazon Prime Video free trial: Stream for a month for free
The Amazon Prime Video app icon on Roku.

If you've ever shopped on Amazon -- and these days, who hasn't? -- then you've likely heard about the option for an Amazon Prime membership. This subscription is mostly touted as a way to save on shipping costs when purchasing from Amazon, but it also comes bundled with some other handy features including access to Amazon's streaming service, Amazon Prime Video. You'll find a range of movies and shows to watch, but if you're not sure whether you need yet another streaming service, there is an option for a free trial to see if you like the service before paying for it.
Is there an Amazon Prime Video free trial?
There is indeed an Amazon Prime Video free trial, but it's tied into the Prime free trial, which lasts for a month and may or may not be available to you. To see if you're eligible, you'll need to and check. The general rule is that the Prime free trial (and by extension, an Amazon Prime Video free trial) is available to Amazon accounts that have either never signed up for a Prime trial or have not had Prime -- either a trial or paid membership -- any time in the last 12 months.

The Prime free trial is usually for 30 days, similar to the Hulu free trial. If you're not eligible for the Amazon Prime Video free trial, though, then be patient: Sometimes, Amazon will sometimes offer free trials to its loyal customers, so if you have an Amazon account (but not a Prime membership) and shop on the site regularly, you might find a Prime trial offer sitting in your inbox one day. Often, though, these are shorter seven- or 14-day trials rather than the 30-day trial. Nonetheless, it's obvious that Amazon is a bit more generous with these trial periods than other services -- there's no Disney+ free trial or Netflix free trial, for example, but it's thankfully much easier to get an Amazon Prime Video free trial.

Discovery Plus free trial: Stream for a week for free

With such a huge variety of streaming services to chose from, it's easy to get overwhelmed. There are options focused on prestige TV, or movies, or original series, and just about any other type of TV you can name. But if you love reality TV and shows focused on cooking or home improvement, then the service you might be most interested in is Discovery Plus. The service has had a rocky history recently and last year it raised its prices, but you can still get a free seven-day trial of the service to decide if you want to fork out for a regular subscription.
Is there a Discovery Plus free trial?

There is a Discovery Plus free trial, and if things like a Disney Plus free trial and a Peacock TV free trial are of interest to you, it’s worth pouncing on. The Discovery Plus free trial does consist of signing up for the paid service, at which point you’re given seven days of free access to the entire Discovery Plus library of content. You have the full seven days to enjoy all of the Discovery Plus content you like, and you can cancel with no financial commitment within those seven days. If you don’t cancel within those seven days, your credit card will be billed $4.99 per month or $8.99 per month, depending on which Discovery Plus tier you choose at signup.
