Best Buy discounts Sonos Playbar, Sonos Sub for Memorial Day

You don’t have to look hard to find excellent deals at Best Buy during its Memorial Day sales. Best Buy has sales on two of the most-wanted Sonos audio components, the Sonos Playbar wireless soundbar and Sonos Sub wireless subwoofer. Sonos audio brings immersive, high-resolution to your home with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for multi-room access and control.

If you use the Sonos Playbar as your home’s audio control center, you can connect components in other rooms or any part of your home reachable via your Wi-Fi network. The Playbar has six mid-woofers and three tweeters, each with a digital amplifier for precise voice and sound effect control. This smart device streams audio input via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. There’s also an optical audio input port but no HDMI ports. In addition to Wi-Fi support, the Playbar also includes two 10/100 Ethernet ports for wired network connections.

The Sonos Playbar doesn’t include a remote control device, but you have several options. You can configure your TV remote control to control the Playbar. If you download the Sonos app, then you can have complete control of all your Sonos components with an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet. Also, the Sonos Playbar is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to enable hands-free voice control. You can certainly use the Sonos Playbar as the sole audio component with a TV. If you have other audio components that you also wish to use with your TV, the Playbar is best suited as a center channel speaker.

The Sonos Playbar wireless soundbar ordinarily sells for $700, but Best Buy reduced the price to $600 during the Memorial Day Sale.

Give your home theater the power of Sonos Sub’s wireless subwoofer for low-frequency bass without the vibration in most strong subwoofers. The Sonos sub uses two face-to-face drivers, each with its own tuned digital amplifier to cancel the vibrations. The result is pure sound without irritating noise. The Sonos Sub works with any Sonos amplified components and is compatible with Apple Music content. You can connect to a network Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet port. The Sub is both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatible if you want to connect and control via voice. The downloadable Sonos Control app works with any iOS or Android mobile device for setup, configuration, and access to all controls and settings.

While the Sonos Sub lists for $700, it’s on sale for $600 during Best Buy’s Memorial Day Sales. If you’ve been waiting to add a Sonos Sub to your existing Sonos component or buying your first Sonos set up now, take advantage of the rare sale on this device.

HP 14-inch Chromebook — $159, was $299

If you're looking for budget laptops, Chromebooks are usually a great place to start. They're just cheaper than other laptops on many fronts, though there is some pared-down functionality when you compare them to laptops at large. This 14-inch laptop with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC memory has great cloud storage and is perfect for getting you through documents, web browsing, and enjoying videos on YouTube. If you have some difficulty thinking about what else you can do on a laptop but those things, and you're not alone, this laptop was pretty much made for you. Due to the excellent price point and low chances for distraction, this is an excellent laptop for college students looking to get something extra to throw in their backpack.

Our 5 favorite tablet deals in Best Buy’s ‘3-Day Sale’
Apple iPad 9th Gen. 2021 on porch with toys.

If you weren't aware, the Best Buy 3-Day Sale is going on now. While the name is a considerably less flashy than Amazon's Prime Day, it does make immediate sense. There's a sale going on at Best Buy, and it lasts... for three days, ending Sunday. During this sale, you can find a number of classic Best Buy items — with everything from the best laptops to the best tablets — marked down in price. Here, we investigate the tablets that make up the 3-Day Sale and highlight the five we like the most, based on discount and quality of the product, while also showing a wide variety of tablets and price ranges.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ — $190, was $220

While the discount isn't too steep, there also isn't a lot of room to bring the Galaxy Tab A9+'s price down anyhow. This low-priced tablet is perfect for watching videos and browsing the net. It can also be cozy to curl up next to someone else and watching programming together on its surprisingly large 11-inch, 1920 x 1200p screen. As the Galaxy Tab A9+ only uses 4GB of RAM and has a mere 64GB of storage, you might think it wouldn't be too great at gaming, but with a 90Hz refresh rate, it can definitely take on some action-packed fun. Just install a few apps at a time and be a completionist about it.

Our 5 favorite gaming laptop deals in Best Buy’s ‘3-Day Sale’
Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 placed on a desk.

Gaming laptops are typically quite expensive. To have an effective one, you've got to get good storage, a nice processor, and likely throw in above-average RAM. We've all seen the big towers of pre-built desktop computers — they're big, and that space is totally non-existent in a gaming laptop. In other words, a gaming laptop is a feat of engineering. That's why we're particularly interested in gaming laptop deals, whenever they come up. And right now they're coming up via Best Buy's 3-Day Sale, an aptly named sale that lasts for... three days. It's ending Sunday, so go check these deals out now.
HP Victus 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop — $550, was $800

The key stat/hardware line (AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS processor, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 graphics card, 512GB SSD storage) of the HP Victus can sound intimidating, even with 8GB of RAM. That's why we're delightfully shocked that this laptop is nearing the $500 mark after discounts. For your gaming needs, it also has an anti-glare monitor with 144Hz refresh rate. While it still won't beat using the best ethernet cables, the WiFi 6 standard will help you get your games downloaded fast. Other features gamers will enjoy are the full keyboard with numpad (traditional ASCII-based roguelikes, anyone?) to AI noise removal for clear communication with your teammates.
