Amazon’s been blowing out some of its larger Roku and Fire TV-enabled 4K televisions lately, and we’ve just spotted a deal on the Toshiba 43-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV HDR Fire TV Edition. It’s on sale for just $200 for a limited-time savings of $130.
We covered this TV as part of our roundup of the best 4K TV deals earlier this week. However, we wanted to bring this to your attention again because it’s the cheapest we’ve seen a 4K TV of its size anywhere. It’s also very, very like that this deal will disappear fast (Amazon did have a 43-inch TCL Roku TV on sale for $199, but that has already sold out less than a day or two after it appeared).
At 43 inches, we think this Toshiba 4K television is the perfect size for a bedroom or den. It won’t produce the deepest blacks and is subject to issues with glare, but that’s to be expected of a cheap TV. It just requires a bit of planning on your part to position it for the best picture. Still, you’re getting 4K and HDR, which compensates for some of its weaknesses.
Fire TV support allows you to control your television by Alexa. There are tons of apps for dozens of streaming video (and audio) services available through the Fire TV’s app store, giving you tons of content to watch. Pair this with an inexpensive soundbar like Vizio’s 38-inch model and you’ll have a nice setup for still less than the price you’d pay for most 4K televisions alone right now.
There are also 50- and 55-inch versions of this TV available on Amazon, however, the discounts aren’t as generous — which leads us to believe the steep discounts on the 43-inch might be short-lived.
Despite its impressive feature set, we wouldn’t recommend this particular television as your main television for a living room or family room. For there, if you’re still looking for a good mix of value and size, the Samsung QLED 4K TV’s are much better options, with far superior picture quality.
Walmart is also selling a 75-inch 4K TV for just $1,000, a much better option for larger living rooms.
