A TV’s built-in speakers are never enough, so if you need a serious audio upgrade for your home theater, you’ll want to pay attention to all of the Black Friday soundbar deals coming in. Amazon’s latest lightning deal features a . Normally available for $700, its Black Friday price is nearly slashed in half, bringing the whole set down to $385 before taxes. Amazon’s best Black Friday deals are often limited by brisk timers and limited stock, so don’t take too long deciding as this discount likely won’t survive the day.
Specifically, this is the Vizio SB36514-G6, a complete system comprises a soundbar, a subwoofer, and two satellite speakers that will help pull you even further into your favorite movies, shows, and video games. In the box, you’re getting a five-channel soundbar that features two upfiring speakers, two rear satellite speakers each with its own upfiring driver, and a wireless subwoofer sporting a 6-inch driver for bass. Our guide to buying a good soundbar will get you up to speed on what all of that means if you’re new to the game, but know that it’s enough to turn any standard living room into a booming theater. It comes with neat features that’ll transform your entire home into an entertainment hub. All of that earns the Vizio SB36514-G6 (and its several variants) regular recognition in our collection of the best soundbars.
Why should you buy this home theater system?
As you may have read in our review, there’s a lot to like about the Vizio SB36514-G6. Like most other speakers from Vizio’s lineup, this package is sleek and slim with subtle elegance provided by the sharp metal-on-black design. Although there are five pieces in the box, its overall footprint should fit nicely in most home theater configurations.
More importantly, we found setup and operation to be painless, and we considered the sound quality to be impressive at its debut price tag, so that goes double at this rare dip. The only real knock against the SB36514-G6 is its lack of HDMI eARC, which shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for most, but it’s worth considering if you’re a future-proofer. There is HDMI ARC, however, which will allow you to pass audio from your TV’s built-in apps through to the home theater system.
If you’re looking for alternatives, you’ll be able to find better sound in a system surrounding Samsung’s HW-N950 or Vizio’s own SB-46514-F6, both of which are Atmos-ready. There’s not a massive difference in sound quality for the much heavier price tag those products carry, and that was true well before Black Friday. We doubt the Vizio SB36514-G6 will be around for long at this shockingly low price, so unless you want to gamble on finding a good deal for Cyber Monday, get one while you can.
