Laptops with fold-flat touchscreens are all the rage in 2020, but it might surprise you to learn that the best Windows 2-in-1 on the market isn’t even a laptop — it’s a tablet. Microsoft’s excellent Surface Pro 7 is a 12-inch tablet with the heart of a Windows PC, and in the wake of Prime Day, Best Buy has the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and Type Cover keyboard bundle on sale for as low as $600 right now. Read on to find out what we love about this computer and how you can save.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 is the latest generation of Microsoft’s excellent line of tablet/laptop hybrids, and when paired with a Type Cover keyboard, it makes for one of the sleekest and most impressive 2-in-1s money can buy, not to mention one of the thinnest and lightest. It’s also really the only game in town if you want a good tablet that shares a software ecosystem with your Windows PC (meaning that iPads are obviously out of the question).

The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 sits at 12 inches, and its 12.3-inch PixelSense touch display is one of our favorite things about this little tablet/laptop hybrid. It’s not only gorgeous, but it has a productivity-friendly aspect ratio of 3:2, which feels so nice compared to standard 16:9 wide screens that you’ll find yourself wondering why more laptops don’t sport displays like this.

Under the hood, the Surface Pro 7 is packing true PC hardware including 10th-gen Intel Core processors, DDR4 RAM, and snappy solid-state drives, giving you plenty of performance for anything you’d need to do on a laptop or tablet. Where this tablet really shines is as a 2-in-1 when hooked up to the excellent Type Cover keyboard, which transforms the Surface Pro 7 into a true laptop. Another nice feature of the 7th gen model is that it now sports a coveted USB-C port.

One of our long-standing gripes with the Microsoft Surface Pro series is that they don’t come package with that Type Cover keyboard, which they really should. Thankfully, however, Best Buy has the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 with Type Cover keyboard bundle on sale in the wake of Prime Day. This deal lets you grab the Surface Pro 7 with Core i3 CPU, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and Type Cover keyboard for just $599 ($360 off). Alternatively, if you want some beefier specs, the Surface Pro 7 with a Core i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and Type Cover keyboard is also marked down to $999, saving you $330.
