Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – the viking-themed latest entry in Ubisoft’s franchise — will be released this holiday season.

The game’s first trailer was released Thursday, April 30, shows off a bearded man, presumably the main character, brawling, sailing, and stabbing foes with a hidden blade during a pitched battle.

“They are heartless, godless barbarians,” an English noble antagonist says in voice-over. “The time has come to speak to them in a language they will understand.”

The cinematic trailer — which didn’t show gameplay — features scenes of the game’s new setting, with shots of Viking warriors sailing and a nighttime ceremony under auroras.

The announcement came after an 8-hour-long reveal April 29, during which promotional art for the game was drawn on an Ubisoft livestream.

GTA 6 could be coming to PC in early 2027

PC players may not have to wait nearly as long for GTA 6 as they did for GTA 5.

PC gamers got their hopes up for a few hours last week. GTA 6 was reportedly headed to Xbox Cloud Gaming, which immediately opened the possibility of playing Rockstar’s next blockbuster on a Windows PC through streaming, even if a proper PC version was nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, Xbox CSO Matthew Ball quickly shut that door. He clarified that GTA 6 won’t be streamed to PCs, and the original report was corrected soon after.

Well, PC players may not need that workaround for very long anyway. GamesBeat now reports that Rockstar is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for a native PC version of GTA 6. The outlet says it verified the window through four unnamed industry sources. Rockstar hasn’t announced anything officially yet.
