Battlestar Galactica Mobile Game Launched

Mobile game publisher In-Fusio and the Sci Fi Channel yesterday announced the release of a mobile game based on the latter’s hit Battlestar Galactica television series. Battlestar Galactica Mobile is initially available for download to Cingular and T-Mobile wireless customers.

In Battlestar Galactica Mobile, said In-Fusio, players pilot a Colonial Viper Mark VII high performance fighter through 11 levels and a variety of missions as they battle with Cylons. The game is a considered a shooter style title and offers play from a top-down perspective.

“Battlestar Galactica has continued to evolve since its launch in the 1970’s and is one of the most beloved sci-fi franchises of all time,” said Juergen Goeldner, executive vice president of publishing, In-Fusio, in a statement. “We are very proud of the fact that Sci Fi has entrusted us with such a popular brand and we look forward to adapting it for mobile.”

Microsoft now looks to keep that momentum going into 2024 as it integrates the Call of Duty publisher into its organization and tries to keep up the first-party consistency with games like Senua's Saga: Hellblade II and Avowed.

The 10 best video games of 2023

I wish I could say that 2023 was a fantastic year for video games, but that wouldn't tell the full story.

On a surface level, yes, this year was one of the best players have seen since 2017 thanks to a seemingly endless list of top-tier releases. The fact that a game like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom wasn't a shoo-in for Game of the Year honors speaks volumes to just how many unforgettable experiences developers created this year. From the dystopian abyss of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon to the scenic mountains of A Highland Song, video games transported us to so many incredible worlds that it's been hard to keep track of them all.
