‘Shadow of the Tomb Raider’

best ps4 games rise of tomb raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the finale to the trilogy and builds on everything the previous games did and more. It unlocks the full version of Lara Croft as she’s no longer filled with fear but with confidence. Featuring engaging combat, fun environmental puzzles, and moving cinematics, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a brilliant conclusion to Croft’s origin story.

You should play the excellent Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider before diving into the shadows.

‘Rime’

rime game review screens 3

Taking inspiration from atmospheric adventure games like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, Rime is a beautiful and depressing game that harkens back to a forgotten generation. Its distinct art style uses a gorgeous array of blues, reds, and greens to paint a picture as distinct as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, but Rime manages to feel like its own game. Its puzzles never drag down the experience, either, and the game’s gorgeous score help to drive home its most important moments.

‘Dishonored 2’

Famous for its beautiful steampunk art style, dynamic combat system, and versatile open world, Dishonored 2 has all the markings of a game published by Bethesda (think Fall Out, Skyrim, and Wolfenstein). You can choose between two leads, Dishonored’s original protagonist, Corvo or his daughter Emily with each having their own supernatural powers.

Stealth is the highlight of gameplay and unlike in the more recent Assassin’s Creed games, you’ll be rewarded for actually trying. And yes, you can complete the entire game without killing any enemies.

‘Sea of Thieves’

gamestop games days sale best xbox one sea of thieves

If you have ever wanted to sail the treacherous seas roleplaying as a pirate with a group of your friends, Sea of Thieves is the Xbox One game to do it. Embark on voyages, discover treasure, raid enemy ships, customize your own rig, and be the best scallywag this side of the sea has ever seen!

Sea of Thieves could be called a lighthearted pirate simulator. You and your friends will go on adventures but will also work together to accomplish menial things like putting up the ship’s sails and navigating through dangerous waters. The best part about it is that the online experience is cross-platform so you can play with your friends on PC.
