Should you free Ilora in Avowed?

Avowed is a game that loves to give the player tons of choices. You can read up on all the best tips and tricks for which abilities to get, how to fast travel, and switch to third-person, but no one can tell you how to role-play. The first choice that the game hits you with during the tutorial section is whether or not you should trust a free a prisoner named Ilora. On one hand, she claims to have a boat and will help you reach Paradis. On the other, she clearly has a bone to pick with Aedyrans and could easily betray you. If you’re uncertain on how to proceed with this early choice, we’ll clue you in on how it all plays out.

Should you free Ilora?

Yes, you should choose to be kind to Ilora and take the time to find the cell key and release her. Not only will she join you as a temporary companion for the rest of the tutorial, but she will keep her word on helping you reach Paradis. There’s no risk of betrayal so long as you don’t provoke or abandon her.

Once you arrive, she will go on her way but that isn’t the last time helping her will benefit you. Without spoiling when or where, there is a side quest you can take that will have you bumping into her once again. If you’ve played nice with her, she will vouch for you and make the quest go much smoother.

Not all characters in Avowed deserve your mercy, but Ilora at least is one you should trust. She doesn’t play a big role in the game, but there are only positives to gain from setting her free.

Atomfall will let you kill every character you meet
Punching an NPC in Atomfall.

Rebellion's upcoming survival RPG, Atomfall, will feature serious consequences for reckless players. In an interview with Digital Trends, Rebellion confirmed that players will be able to kill every NPC they meet.

Atomfall is a single-player nuclear RPG in the vein of Fallout 4 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 set in a fictional version of the U.K. ravaged by the Windscale fire. As you might expect from a game set in such a brutal world, death is a big part of the story -- and players can choose to be stone cold killers, if they desire.

How long is Split Fiction?
Zoe and Mio run through a sci-fi world in Split Fiction.

There are plenty of great co-op games on the market, and a lot are great for couples, but Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios is a special case. Unlike most multiplayer games, this one actually requires you to have a partner to play. Thankfully, that is easier than ever with cross-platform support and the Friend Pass, but it does mean you need to plan a bit more to make sure you both have enough time to see it through to the end. Each of the stuidio's games have gotten a bit longer, but is that the case with Split Fiction? Here's how long it takes to beat this co-op adventure.
How long is Split Fiction?

Split Fiction is roughly the same length as It Takes Two. From our experience, that puts it comfortably within the 10 to 12 hour range. However, that can easily be pushed to 12 to 15 hours depending on the skill level of both players and your ability to coordinate. Even a pair of veteran gamers who have never played a game as reliant on team work might struggle a bit early on and get slowed down.

A hero talks to commoners in a market in the Fable trailer.

The highly-anticipated Fable has been delayed until 2026. The news broke on the Official Xbox Podcast during an interview with Craig Duncan. "We previously announced the date for Fable as 2025. We are actually going to give Fable more time and it's going to ship in 2026 now. While I know that's not maybe the news people want to hear, I want to assure people that it's definitely worth the wait."

It's unfortunate news for fans who are eager to get their hands on the game. Rumors of the game first leaked in 2018, and Playground Games officially announced the reboot in July 2020. By 2026, it will have been in development for at least eight years. Duncan says the game is "very playable," but was careful to avoid too many specific details lest he spoil something.
