Gears of War 3: Epic Edition unboxing photos

We’ve got some awesome pictures of the Epic Edition of Gears of War 3 and simply put it’s truly Epic.

Many times, game companies are criticized for releasing ‘special editions’ that come with little more than game art and a making of DVD. Not so with Epic’s latest fan service. It appears Epic Games have really gone all out with the latest special edition giving hardcore fans plenty to be excited about.

The Gears of War 3 Epic Edition comes with a limited edition statue of Marcus Fenix. The statue was designed by Epic Game’s own Chris Perna and captures all the detail fans expect from the gruff and tough COG warrior.

Also included in the Epic Edition are some personal items belonging to Adam Fenix, Marcus’ father. His last will and testament, a replica of the ‘Octus Service Medal’ he received for his work on the Hammer of Dawn, family photos and a personal letter to Marcus. Ever thought of building your own orbital doom cannon? The Epic Edition includes a detailed schematic of the Hammer of Dawn itself. Nerds and would-be-world-conquerors rejoice.

For those who enjoy reading up on everything Gears of War, Epic has included the Art and Design of Gears of War penned by Extra Lives author Tom Bissell. With it, fans will learn just about everything they ever wanted to know about the creation of the Gears of War series.

Last but certainly not least, the Epic Edition comes with, of course, a copy of the game, several multiplayer unlockables such as the Infected Omen Weapon Pack, which gives player some skin options for their starting weapons, and the Adam Fenix multiplayer character.

Gears of War 3 is set to release on September 20th for the Xbox 360 and the Epic Edition will set you back a hefty $149.99.

Is $149.99 too much for a special edition? Sound off in the comments below and share your thoughts.

How to pre-order Bayonetta 3: retailers, editions, and bonuses
Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3.

The Umbra Witch has finally risen and is ready to kick some Angel a**! After years of waiting, it's finally time to step back into those iconic high heel, high caliber gun stilettos, summon a giant hair demon, and watch the madness unfold around us. Bayonetta 3 was first announced in 2017 but spent so long without any updates or comments on the game that an entire Twitter account was created to count the days that went by without the game being mentioned, reaching a staggering 1,679 days in its longest streak.

The wait is almost at an end, with October 28 being the new date on the calendar to watch out for. But being the classy lady that she is, there was no way Bayonetta would only have a single, normal release. I mean, sure, that's always an option, but fans of this spiritual successor to the Devil May Cry games who have been waiting for years will certainly be looking to throw some extra cash around for all the bonus goodies you can get your hands on. Here's everything you need to know before pre-ordering Bayonetta 3 so you are sure to have a devilishly good time.

Forget Sonic 1-3, where are my Sonic Game Gear remasters?
Tails rides a boat in Tails Adventure promo art.

This June, Sonic fans will get to relive the series' most iconic games. Sonic Origins features newly remastered editions of the original Sega Genesis trilogy alongside Sonic CD. For video game historians, it’s an important collection that keeps some of gaming’s most fundamental building blocks properly preserved.

Though, it’s not like those games are hard to find. Games like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 have been released and rereleased dozens of times since the 1990s, coming to seemingly every platform imaginable. The same can’t be said for other, less celebrated Sonic games. Case in point: Tails Adventure. When I was thinking about the Game Gear spinoff starring Miles “Tails” Prower recently, I remembered I had to dig up my Nintendo 3DS and rush to the eShop to make sure I downloaded it before it shuts down for good.
