How to heal units in Civilization 7

An army faces the ocean in Civilization 7.
2K / 2K

Whether or not you're going for a military victory in Civilization 7, you will eventually engage in some combat. Building an army is one of the most basic tips and tricks, but the game fails to tell you one of the most important mechanics: healing. After coming out on top of a skirmish against another Leader -- or managing to retreat with your lives -- your units will be damaged. At first, there doesn't look like there's any way to heal them back up and you are stuck with a unit that will die the next time they are hit. We'll fill you in on the simple way to get your units back into fighting shape in Civilization 7.

How to heal units

There are two ways to heal units in Civilization 7, but one of them is very conditional and not as practical. The easier way is always available, but you need to look in the controls to even know it exists.

Step 1: Find an injured unit and put them on a safe tile on the map.

Step 2: On their next turn, press the H key to instruct them to fortify and heal.

Step 3: This unit will become immobile and build a camp where it will regenerate HP on every turn.

Step 4: Once that unit's HP is full, remember to select them and command them to stop their action so you can control them again.

The other way you can heal units is if you choose a town's specialization to give passive healing to any units on that tile. That does mean you can still use that unit to defend if needed, but because they have to stay locked on that one specific spot until healed, it isn't all that convenient.

How long is Split Fiction
Zoe and Mio run through a sci-fi world in Split Fiction.

There are plenty of great co-op games on the market, and a lot are great for couples, but Split Fiction from Hazelight Studios is a special case. Unlike most multiplayer games, this one actually requires you to have a partner to play. Thankfully, that is easier than ever with cross-platform support and the Friend Pass, but it does mean you need to plan a bit more to make sure you both have enough time to see it through to the end. Each of the stuidio's games have gotten a bit longer, but is that the case with Split Fiction? Here's how long it takes to beat this co-op adventure.
How long is Split Fiction

Split Fiction is roughly the same length as It Takes Two. From our experience, that puts it comfortably within the 10 to 12 hour range. However, that can easily be pushed to 12 to 15 hours depending on the skill level of both players and your ability to coordinate. Even a pair of veteran gamers who have never played a game as reliant on team work might struggle a bit early on and get slowed down.

How to join the PlayStation beta program
A person plays Stray using a PlayStation controller on a silver 13-inch MacBook Air.

Normally, we have to wait until the best PS5 games are released to get our hands on them. There are occasional demos and beta periods for games, but they can be rare and hard to get into. The PlayStation beta program is an initiative that lets gamers not only upcoming PS5 games before anyone else right on their console and PC, but also new potential console features. Besides just getting to experience all these things in the early stages, beta participants can give their feedback to influence games and features before the release. If that sounds like a great gig to you, here's how to sign up.

How to mount monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
A hunter on a monster's back in Monster Hunter Wilds.

If you watched any of the trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds then you know it is possible to mount your target to inflict some big damage. Much like Power Clashes and Offset Attacks, this mechanic is woefully under tutorialized in the game to the point where you can go hours without ever figuring out the tips and tricks necessary to pull it off. This is a shame not only because of how useful it can be to quickly take down a monster but also because it is just so cool to do. There are a lot of nuances to mounting a raging beast, so we'll give you all info you need on how to mount monsters and what to do once you're on its back.
