How to play PUBG on your PC

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is one of the most popular battle royale games on the market — and for good reason. Fast-paced action, incredible maps, and tense firefights are staples of each round, making the need for quick reflexes and good teamwork paramount to your success. Joining in on the fun is easy, although unlike some titles in the genre, PUBG is not a free game. Here’s how to download and play PUBG on your PC.

Where to buy PUBG

There are two ways you can purchase PUBG on your computer. The simplest is to install Steam. Once installed, use the search bar at the top-right of the screen to search for PUBG. This will bring you to its product page, where you can purchase the title for $29.99.

The other option is to go directly to PUBG‘s website. At the top-right corner of the screen, there is a dropdown menu — click on it and navigate to the Buy Now tab. From there, you can choose to purchase it on Steam or directly from PUBG‘s e-shop.

Regardless of how you bought the game, you’ll still need to install Steam before you can run it. If you purchased it directly through Steam, PUBG should begin downloading on its own. If it doesn’t, head over to your Steam library, click on PUBG in your catalog, and select Install to start the process.

If you purchased the game from the PUBG e-shop, you’ll be given a code that can be redeemed on Steam. With Steam open, head up to the toolbar and click on Games. Next, click Activate a Product On Steam, then input your code for PUBG. This will add the product to your library and begin the download process.

As of now, Steam is the only way to run PUBG on your PC. No other clients — such as Epic Games Store or Origin — can run the title, so you’ll have to make sure Steam is installed on your PC and you have enough space to download the title.

How to play PUBG

Once you’ve installed PUBG, playing it is as simple as going to your Steam library and clicking the Play button. You’ll have several game modes to choose from — including normal match, ranked match, and training mode — but we’d recommend diving into whatever catches your eye and learning the ropes as you go. However, if you’re completely new to the world of battle royales, it might be worth your time to check out the training mode first. PUBG can be a difficult game for beginners, but spend some time practicing, and you’ll be winning matches in no time.

How to survive storm phases carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite
Character jumping while holding Epic weapon in Fortnite.

A new Fortnite challenge for surviving storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon has caused some confusion, as the quest's wording isn't exactly clear. Thankfully, the challenge is much easier than it seems, and once you know what to do, you can get through it relatively quickly. Here's how to survive storm phases while carrying an Epic weapon in Fortnite.
What is an Epic weapon?
Fortnite uses a rarity system with its weapons, which are denoted by colors. Purple weapons are Epic, but keep in mind you can utilize any weapon of higher rarity to complete this quest. As long as the weapon is at least Epic, you'll earn credit for surviving storm phases.
How to get an Epic weapon

There are several ways to get Epic weapons. One way is to simply find one from chests or as floor loot, but this isn't as reliable. You can also purchase Epic weapons from NPCs around the map. Nearly all main hubs have an NPC who sells weapons, so be sure to talk with them if you have the funds. Using an Upgrade Station is another solid option for collecting an Epic weapon, though it's expensive. Another option is to defeat the Highcard Boss found at Brutal Bastion, Shattered Slabs, and Mega City. Upon defeat, the Highcard Boss drops a Mythic Havoc Suppressed Rifle.

How to give specialist a command in Fortnite
Character interacting with NPC in Fortnite.

As part of Fortnite's Spring Breakout Daily Quests, players are tasked with giving a hired specialist character a command. Of course, the game doesn't specify how to do this exactly, leading to some confusion amongst the community. Thankfully, we've got everything you need to know about completing this new quest with ease in Fortnite.
How to hire a specialist

Specialist Characters are specific NPCs all around the map. If you pull up the quest itself, you'll actually see a map of all the Specialist Characters. Keep in mind that not all NPCs fall into this category, so be sure to look at the map. We like the one to the very north of Breakwater Bay as it's usually out of the way. Once you find them, you'll need to pay 200 Gold Bars to hire them. If you don't have the funds, be sure to play more and complete bounties as needed.
How to give a character a command
After you've hired the Specialist Character, they'll be on your side for the duration of the match. If you look at the top left side of the screen, you'll see an icon that represents the Follower Communications wheel. Press and hold left on the D-pad on console or the middle mouse button on PC to get this menu to appear. Once it does, you can pick from a list of commands such as wait or follow. To complete the quest, you simply need to issue one command and after the NPC does what you ask, you'll earn credit for completing it.

Soldiers in Counter-Strike 2 key art.

After a few weeks of leaks and rumors, Valve has finally announced that Counter-Strike 2 will be launching this summer as a free update to CS:GO.

Valve is describing Counter-Strike 2 as an  “overhaul to every system, every piece of content, and every part of the C-S experience” and “the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history," promising years of support for the game. It sounds a lot similar to how Blizzard handled the jump to Overwatch 2.
