While it is still no Tetris, with 36 million downloads, Angry Birds is one of the most mainstream games out right now. To prove that fact, it seems the game has started popping up on late night television…in Isreal. The clip at the bottom of this post is from the comedy show Eretz Nehederet (A Wonderful Country). It pokes fun at the never-ending Paletstine / Israel peace negotiations by relating it to the eternal struggle between the pigs and birds. Check it out!

In other Angry Birds news, Rovio has announced that a second version of the game is being developed for lower-end Android smartphones. The game will have all the same levels as the regular Angry Birds game, but will be optimized for less powerful devices. A full list of devices can be found on Rovio’s blog.

Finally, a Christmas version of Angry Birds is on the way. MTV3.fi posted a screenshot of the game and Rovio has confirmed its validity. It will arrive on iPhone (and possibly other platforms) sometime in December. Last week, CEO Peter Vesterbacka revealed that a console version of Angry Birds is on the way.
