Skyrim and Battlefield 3 themes get the Christmas light treatment

Earlier this week, we told you about a playable version of Angry Birds created out of Christmas lights. And while these next two light shows aren’t playable, they’re certainly notable for combining a holiday tradition with two of this year’s biggest releases from the gaming world.

First up is a light show set to the epic theme from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which happens to be a multiple nominee in our 2011 Gaming Awards. The “Sons of Skyrim” score was composed by Jeremy Soule.

There doesn’t seem to be any info about where this house is located or how many lights went into the display, but it sure is nice to watch — especially when the tempo picks up.

Not to be outdone by the Skyrim show, a Battlefield 3 fan has created another nice show set to the military shooter’s rousing theme. Like Skyrim, Battlefield 3 is also a nominee in our annual Digital Trends Gaming Awards.

At this point, if we don’t see a light show based on Batman: Arkham City before the end of the year, we’re going to be very disappointed.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is nothing short of legendary. It managed to win over 200 awards and sold more than 30 million copies from its initial release. Emblematic as the experience may be, Bethesda's lore-riddled fantasy RPG wouldn't be one of the greatest open-world games without its dedicated modding community. From simple graphical touchups to complete out-of-universe transformations, Skyrim mods have evolved alongside the iconic title. Whether it's home to more immersive NPCs or becomes a nightmarish version of the Mushroom Kingdom, Tamriel can now practically become anything a player desires.
