After making console players for far too long, Hades 2 is finally making its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Supergiant Games has just confirmed that the acclaimed roguelike sequel will launch on April 14, with the Xbox version also arriving on Game Pass the same day.

This is a pretty big moment for fans of the franchise with consoles as their main gaming platform. Supergiant’s first-ever sequel debuted back in September 2025, going on to become the best-reviewed game of 2025 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic.

What to expect from this hyped launch

The studio isn’t just porting the game to consoles, it is even adding a few extra touches. Supergiant says that Hades 2 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will run at 120fps, which should make the game’s already fast and fluid combat feel snappier. The PS5 and Xbox editions of the game will also include bonus content and quality-of-life improvements that the team has been working on for a while now.

So existing players will also get those additions along with a patch landing on the same day.

Why this is a big win for console players

Supergiant also took the chance to flex the various accolades awarded to the game during this announcement. The game has picked up a long list, including Best Action Game at The Game Awards and the D.I.C.E. Awards, along with Best Game on Steam Deck at the Steam Awards and Best Foreign Game at the Pégases Awards.

All of this just made the wait harder for players who weren’t on PC or Nintendo platforms. So while PlayStation is becoming a more closed platform, these developers are sharing the joy.

Netflix just unveiled Unhinged, and it might be the strangest thing the streamer has ever put in its games tab. Arriving June 30, this interactive horror story does not need a console or controller. Instead, your own smartphone becomes the entire interface, and you receive phone calls that ring straight through your actual device mid-game.
