Tony Hawk has confirmed the development of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 by sharing this Instagram video of fellow-skater Rob Wootton acting out the character-selection animations from Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, which should no doubt tickle the nostalgia bone of longtime series fans:

The “leak” to which Hawk refers is a picture recently posted on Instagram (and subsequently taken down) by a caterer at an event held by publisher Activision. Lurking behind the catering work he was showing off is a half-pipe and a screen with a “Tony Hawk 5” logo projected behind what look like video game consoles.

A spokesperson from Activision has confirmed that Tony Hawk 5 is just a working title, but it does seem to indicate (in conjunction with Hawk’s nostalgic video post) at least a spiritual return to the series’ core, which started with the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater for PlayStation in 1999. The series has had numerous spin-offs since then, such as Underground and American Wasteland, but no core, numbered entries since Pro Skater 4 in 2002.

Details are still scarce, but Hawk’s public comment means that an official reveal is coming soon, likely at E3 in June. Last year he tweeted that he was “currently working with Activision on a console game for 2015 (along with a new mobile game),” so a release later this year seems likely. Activision also confirmed earlier this year that it is developing a mobile-exclusive Tony Hawk game. We will have to wait and see how closely related these two projects are.

If I were a betting man, I would say to expect a fall release on all major consoles. They will also probably drop the “5,” given recent trends in sequel/reboot numbering (or the lack thereof: cf. Tomb Raider, Guitar Hero Live, and Silent Hills).

Oppo's flagship Find X3 Pro was released in March 2021 to great reviews. Now, the next device rumored to be the Oppo Find X5 Pro is expected to release this March. Sources have suggested that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is Snapdragon's most powerful processor yet.

Interestingly, it seems likely that there will be no Oppo Find X4 Pro as the number 4 is not considered to be lucky in Chinese. The number is considered to be nearly homophonous to the word "death" in Cantonese. The details of the upcoming handset were leaked by Digital Chat Station and Abhishek Yadav, two well-known tipsters in the digital arena. Meanwhile, a tipster called OnLeaks, shared the first photos of the phone below.

TCL’s Tab Pro 5G might be worth it for Verizon customers who want cheaper 5G
Image of Tab Pro 5G Tablet front lock screen.

TCL has just announced its first 5G tablet from Verizon, the Tab Pro 5G. The specs are largely midrange, but it offers a large and crisp screen, decent performance, and fast 5G connectivity at a reasonable $400 price tag. Verizon is also offering a "Buy More, Save More" promo where users can save $100 on a new Tab Pro 5G purchase if they also purchase an eligible Android smartphone on a Verizon plan. It's no iPad, but it's a good budget-friendly option for a device with 5G Ultra Wideband.

The device weighs 16.09 ounces and comes in Metallic Black, giving it a relatively standard and inoffensive look. The tablet also has a fingerprint sensor built into one of the side keys and face-unlockcapabilities.

Samsung has long been the go-to brand for the best Android tablets, but Lenovo is trying to change that with the new Lenovo Tab P12 Pro and Tab P11 5G. Both new slates are geared toward a mix of 2-in-1 portability, productivity, and multimedia, though the P11 5G won’t launch in the U.S.

When it comes to hardware, the P12 Pro compares favorably with other top-tier tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. Weighing 565 grams, it’s lighter than most laptops and on par with other tablets of similar size.  It comes with a 12.6-inch 2560 x 1600 AMOLED screen, and it supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach 600 nits of brightness, giving it good visibility in most settings.

The unique feature is that the refresh rate adjusts automatically based on your needs, kicking up to 120Hz when gaming, then down to 60Hz for basic browsing and other less demanding activities to save battery life. There are quad SLS JBL speakers for better audio, Dolby Atmos support, and Lenovo’s proprietary audio solution.
