The PlayStation 5 has been out for some time now, and its reception has been mostly positive. It includes lots of quality-of-life improvements over its predecessor, the PlayStation 4, such as faster load times, a solid-state drive (SSD) instead of a regular hard disk drive (HDD), and an improved controller in the form of the new DualSense. However, a console is only as good as the games available on it, and thankfully, the PS5 has you covered on that front as well.
While the machine already has a worthy library of great PS5 games, there are even more to look forward to, with some releasing as soon as this month, while others are still years away. In the video game world, it’s not uncommon to be aware of games that are still several years out from release. It’s also normal for a new game to be revealed and launched within just a couple of months. In this comprehensive list, we’ll go through the major PS5 releases scheduled for 2023 and speculate on future games.
These are the best upcoming PS5 games to look forward to.
Upcoming PS5 games 2024
The games listed below either have 100% confirmed release dates or solid release windows that we expect them to hit this year. Anything that’s up in the air due to more vague launch predictions or previous delays will be listed under the following header.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection - March 14
Two classic Star Wars titles are making their debut on modern consoles this year. Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront 2 will include online play, 64-player battles, and even some new characters and maps.
Alone in the Dark - March 20, 2024
Revisit the eerie depths of Derceto Manor in the reimagined Alone in the Dark — a loving tribute to the 1992 cult classic horror game. Set in the 1920s South, you’ll join Emily Hartwood and the determined private investigator Edward Carnby on a quest to uncover the mystery behind her missing uncle. Derceto Manor, a forbidding home for the mentally ill, hides a sinister secret, and something malevolent is on the prowl.
Crafted by the talented writer of SOMA and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Mikael Hedberg, and featuring monster designs by Guillermo del Toro collaborator Guy Davis, this reimagined Alone in the Dark promises a chilling and unforgettable journey into the unknown.

Games with no release window
All we know about the games listed below is that they’re in development. Most of them are probably a few years away from launch.
Light No Fire
From the creators of No Man’s Sky comes a fantastical exploration adventure with a lot of promise. Light No Fire takes place on an alternate Earth where mythical creatures like animated skeletons and dragons roam. We don’t know a lot about this title yet, but it looks similar to Hello Games’ previous hit — there will be lots of foraging, crafting, and trekking across a massive world. Platforms haven’t officially been announced but we expect it to launch of PS5.
Death Stranding 2 - TBD
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
Dustborn
Gothic 1 Remake
Marvel's Wolverine
Quantum Error
Mass Effect
Project 007
Project Eve
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Remake
Kicking off the 2021 PlayStation Showcase was the announcement of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake. It’s still very early in development and will likely be a while before it’s ready to launch. The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic launched for Xbox in 2003 and was developed by BioWare, the team behind Mass Effect and Dragon Age. The remake is being handled by Aspyr, the studio that developed remasters of Star Wars: Episode I — Racer, Star Wars: Jedi Knight — Jedi Academy, and Star Wars: Republic Commando. Interestingly, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake will be a PS5 timed console exclusive, though it’s unclear for how long. In 2022, it was reportedly delayed indefinitely, so we likely won’t get to play this game any time soon.
