I cannot say enough great things about this service! As I've gotten older I've lost touch with my creativity, which I've really regretted. So when I heard about Creativebug at work (JOANN Fabric), I decided to give a subscription a try. And I am SO glad I did! It gave me the encouragement I needed to get back into crafting. They have a ton of videos with a huge variety of crafts, and they are constantly adding more. I love the quality of the videos, and the classes range in skill levels, so there's something for everyone. If you've ever wanted to learn a new craft, they probably have videos showing you how to do it. And the artists in the videos monitor the comments on the classes to answer user questions.I would recommend this service to anyone who's creative, or who wants to learn how to be creative.

I can not say enough good things about Creativebug. I have used the craftsy platform for years and I got so sick of them reminding me That I can review all of the classes for a lifetime etc... that I have given up purchasing from them. I like a straight forward approach. I want to learn something for each minute I spend in front of the computer. Every minute I am on the website I am learning with Creativebug. I have loved the flower painting class in 30 days I love 30 day classes. I was able to paint the flowers as soon as I finished watching the class. Great teacher Yao Cheng. I love your class.
I love getting a free class to save permanently for every month I am a student so I loose nothing. I also love the 30 day approach to drawing, mixed media classes. I hope that crochet and other classes apply the approach. Its nice to have 30 days at my disposal and I can go from day 1 to day 8 stop and pick up again the next day. I like the short time its takes to teach me a new craft.
I also love Amazon for helping me thru any rough spots that I have have with my initial subscription They are great.
Keep adding classes Creativebug I love learning your way.

I agree with other buyers - BE AWARE OF THE OFFER. I was excited about Creative Bug since I easily buy enough craft magazines in a year to more than cover the cost of a one year membership. However, I signed up on May 16 and on May 17, Creative Bug cancelled my membership. When I sent an email to their customer service department (an oxymoron if ever there was one) I was told I cancelled the subscription. I sent a screen shot from my Amazon account indicating that I had paid for a one year subscription and after two weeks of exchanging emails was told I was on a month-to-month because of Amazon and this was AMAZON'S PROBLEM not Creative Bug's fault. I watch the classes and take notes because I won't be extending my membership after the year one membership I paid for, because as indicated in their on-line promos you can save one class per month for every month paid which is simply not the truth. I have saved one class which is considered "a freebie" with the initial trial membership according to their customer service department, thereafter good luck. If this is sabubscription you are interested in I would suggest you not pay for more than a month at a time--I don't believe Creative Bug will exist in a year and you will have wasted your money.

I have navigated creativebug.com and it is not as intuitive to find classes based on beginner, intermediate. The supply lists are very brand driven and color specific. I am interested in acrylic painting but I think it would be easier to be taught how to mix colors at the beginner level then investing in expensive brands in specific colors. But I see that there is a link to purchase supplies with Joann on a beginner class I found so I guess there is a kickback. I came across an intermediate class that says once you have taken the instructors beginner class the intermediate class is the next step. Would be nice to have been linked to that beginner class because when I copied the title into the search it didn't pull up until I revised the title from Yao’s Beginning Watercolor to Beginning Watercolor. The only way to get any advanced filter to come up is to click the spy glass on the search bar with no text in the box. The system will tell you Hmmm it doesn't have exactly what you are looking for(because of course it is blank)...etc. Then the filter tools will display. I have found no other way to pull up advanced filters. You will note the filters cut off on the drop down box. This site would be a source of frustration for a true beginner. I am still a beginner with minimal experience from taking live painting classes.

I love this craft site and subscription..I looked it over for a full month before i started it to see if there indeed was enough I would want to learn on it and I was amazed at the content..so many new things to learn and also things I had always wanted to try but did not know how. Easy directions creative directors, easy videos with steps to each class and even Wilton cake decorating! Many courses have multiple levels so you can advance in the class from basics to more advanced! I look forward to learning so much on here and for a very reasonable price too! You can learn so much without leaving home when you want to stop and pick back up at your own pace and so cheaply! No books to buy even. Only four out of five stars as though they give you the supply list for each tutorial your unable to purchase them directly there making some tutorials a while to take until you get the supplies from other sites first then come back, be nice if you could buy them directly from their site and get going quicker , however very good content for wide array of subjects even for kids and familys!

I'm a big fan of Craftsy so I thought for sure I would find something I liked here. Despite a lot of poor reviews I typically try to give products or services the benefit of the doubt, after all, everything isn't for everyone. I'm an intermediate/advanced jeweler, seamstress, and general crafter, and this is just not for me. The selection is extremely sparse for the number of classes boasted, but here's my big issue: they're extremely short. With Craftsy I pay $15-$20 per class, which is more expensive sure, but the classes are MANY chapters and cover an entire style, or skill, with many techniques, variations, and finished examples. CreativeBug are SHORT short, like literally "here's how to do just this ONE thing" and that's it, you're done. I don't doubt it's a great speed for absolute beginners, I'm sure these basic techniques in small easily-digestible doses are perfect for someone just dipping their toe into the crafting world, but even at the 99 cent trial offer I almost feel like I was ripped off. To anyone with any crafting experience at all I urge you to visit the website first, I wish I would have.
