Looking to pair your Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro or Joule Turbo Sous Vide with the Joule app? You’ve come to the wrong place. This app only works with a first generation Joule Sous Vide. Download the “Breville Joule App” to get started with your Joule oven or Joule Turbo.
Get access to the ChefSteps' sous vide recipes and control the original Joule Sous Vide with the Joule App. From raw to ready, the app coaches you through the whole process, so cooking sous vide is simple. Just pick what you want to cook, and we’ll walk you through the rest.
The Joule App includes groundbreaking features like Visual Doneness, precise temperature control from anywhere, and a robust collection of recipes and cooking guides created by the ChefSteps team.
You tell us what you’re cooking, we tell you when it’s ready. Making a two-inch steak? Great. Just tap the Start button, and Joule will set a timer for perfect doneness. Get notified when your steak is ready—and we’ll also tell you how much longer it can stay in the water without overcooking.

The app has some awesome features, but it's also got a bug that makes it practically unusable in my experience. It would be a five star app, except that on my Deco mesh network, with the joule on the most recent firmware, and my Samsung S24 on the most recent android patch, it takes practically two minutes to do anything. Start a cook? Spins for 2 minutes. Check the firmware? Spins for two minutes. The delay means I can't just pull my phone out and start a cook, and it drives me crazy.

The app is has good cooking instructions that include short videos. It's very flaky, if I move to a different app it eventually loses connection to the stick but frequently has trouble reconnecting. If I reload the app it starts from the beginning losing the data from the initial cook time. It's not optimized for a tablet either. It works well with the basics like setting the temperature but after that it's best to set your own timer.

This app is garbage, and is the one factor that makes me wary of recommending a joule sous vide to friends and family. It has terrible connectivity issues, and no matter what I try, I can't get it to connect to WiFi (no other devices or apps have this issue in my home), so I have to be within Bluetooth range to check the temp, how long the cook has been going, etc. The interface also puts preset recommendations ahead of the basic interface to set temp and time, which was annoying at first.
