Trumps iPad Pro 3rd Gen 12.9
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been an iPad user mainly for travel entertainment and casual browsing. Upon any trips longer than a day or two, I would have to bring my laptop for actual work-- nothing crazy-- excel, mail, and browser work-- yet the iPad couldn't work. Enter Surface Pro X. I was always wanting to try the Surface line, but every time I tried one out, I would be turned off by sluggish performance and poor battery life. After using this for a week now, I am SOLD. I've been powering away on spreadsheets at Starbucks this morning without having to have both devices with me. Tablet mode works great for browsing and media consumption. Once you get used to Windows 10 coming iOS, its pretty startling how much more capable it is! A couple apps couldn't load due to the ARM processor, but I just use the web based version with the new Edge (which is blazing fast!). Having an always connected computer/tablet with LTE a a full operating system with a sexy design rivaling Apple has me very excited.

Beautiful Display! Great For On The Go!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first read about the Surface Pro X on Microsoft's website I didn't fully realize what the differences between ARM processors and i3, i5, and i7 processors. I still went ahead and purchased it and started using it. At first, when I read that you can't just install anything on it I was worried about my decision. "Did I just purchase a souped-up Surface RT?" However the more I used it the more I was confident with my decision. To start, the display on the Surface Pro X is simply gorgeous. The colors are rich and vibrant and it just looks great I love the very thin bezels on the right and left side of the screen! If you are looking for a tablet/PC to do high-end video editing or late-night gaming sessions then this is not your choice. With the ARM processor you can only run 32 bit programs in emulation mode. However, for watching media, document processing, or other simpler tasks you will not be disappointed. This device is also LTE compatible which I love. I'm an AT&T subscriber and all I have to do is pay a monthly $10 connection fee and I can share my data plan with it. This device also has a solid build and feels very sturdy in your hands. What I don't like is that this device is a fingerprint magnet! I am constantly wiping it down and cleaning the back. Some may not be so picky but fingerprints drive me nuts. The unit also has the ability to increase the SSD space by purchasing a larger drive. A friend of mine took his 128GB Surface Pro X and upgraded it to 512GB. He said this gives him much more piece of mind in not running out of memory. It also saved him money. Overall, I highly recommend this device to the right person. I am 30 days in on using it and have no regrets buying it.

Surface Pro X is a must have!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely LOVE my surface Pro X!! I was looking for a laptop that is fast and easy to use and the Surface Pro X is both! It gives you the feel of a desktop computer with the mobility of a laptop. I love that you can detach the computer and use it a tablet. Also, I love the feel of the keyboard. It just like a regular keyboard. The first keyboard I bought was defective. (some of the keys didn't work). I brought it to best buy and they were very helpful. I was able to return it and get a new one. Now I have no problems! If you are looking for a computer that allows mobility, speed and ease this is the laptop for you! I would absolutely recommend the Surface Pro!! The only thing I will warn you about is that there's no headphone jack or USB port. Although, I have has no problem with that since it has Bluetooth. But for some people this may be a problem.

For work or personal use
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this tablet pro, I originally bought it for work, but now use it for playing games on and more. My work saw me using this and liked it so much, that they are now buying a few for their company for employees to use in the field. Thankfully, I have my own, so I get to use it outside of work. Lol For performance, it has given me no issues what do ever and the battery run-time is impressive. I was debating on getting a cheaper similar device, but glad I went with this purchase. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a replacement for a table or for business use "on-the-go".

Screen is terrible, windows should be embarrassed
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got it at 500 bucks which is worth it, no way is this junk worth a grand. The led is low grade garbage compared to a oled or iPad Pro 10000 mini leds. It is one of the slowest of the slow, windows arm processors are dumpsters speed compared to my M1 iPad Pro. I only wanted it because of the lte and the 2 games I play it doesn’t matter what speed computer you have. This thing it’s a specific use if you want to play low end video games on the go, and you don’t have a unlimited hot spot. Anything else there is something way better for you. The iPad Pro 12.9 has a billion times better screen and 20 times faster. I’d change my review if it was actually 500 to start. Them selling this at a grand is a joke. The newer one for 1659 is just pure insanity any one buying that has no idea what they are doing. I’ll give you a comparison to my iPad Pro in the pictures so u can see, that is running shadow pc so you don’t think it isn’t a iPad since it has windows desktop as the picture. Also the pro is 120 hz vs the 60 hz this garbage surface is. Microsoft really should be embarrassed. At no point ever was this thing worth a grand. The pro still has some back light bleed compared to a crisp oled, but the pro is faster than any android or intel. It is also way brighter, and the pro is 900.

Don't Get This Paper Weight. Get a Surface Pro 7!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tablet, along with the type cover (without the pen storage) yesterday. First, the tablet is VERY nice, it has good memory, it's responsive. But here's the problem: It ONLY uses ARM apps. That is, you CANNOT use all your Windows 10 apps on this device because Windows came up with a processor, just for this tablet, that is not compatible with most apps in the market. Windows, I don't care about extending a couple more hours of battery power with this proprietary processor. That's just not good enough. I couldn't find a compatible version of Sketchpad (a leading app for this hobby). Nor could I find an out-of-the-box version of Lightroom (which I use every day) without going down several rabbit holes. Mail would not set up on this device, despite entering everything correctly. At the end of the day, I realized that ARM isn't for me. I don't spend $1,200 on a tablet with a keyboard just to surf the web. I need it for personal finance, light entertainment, photo editing, sketching, and with the expectation that ANY app I use on my Windows 10 desktop computer WILL work on this tablet. Otherwise, you should just get a budget tablet. Today, I'm promptly returning the type cover and the tablet to Best Buy and plan to purchase a Surface Pro 7, which is NOT ARM compatible, thank God, and CAN run all my apps, thank God. Windows, honestly. Your most beautiful, most expensive, updated device doesn't even run all your programs. What were you thinking? By the way, I just uploaded this same review to my 700 Twitter followers and shared it on Facebook to spread the word that the Surface Pro X should be avoided at all costs. It wasn't a Microsoft-bashing post. It was simply to inform friends that purchasing this product would be a waste of their money, and that they would be greatly disappointed in the product's performance. Anyway, the upside is I get to save a couple of hundred dollars. And I anticipate enjoying the Surface Pro 7. (And if that's true, don't worry, Microsoft, I'll be glad to share the good news about THAT product with those same social followers.) Good luck everyone, and if you purchased Pro X, hope you can take it back! Best Buy Elite members (like me) get much more time to return. Cheers!!!

Q: QuestionHi there, I'm wondering if there's will be 64-bit for Surface Pro X, when it's going to happen?
Asked by KhaJJ.
- A:Answer The Surface Pro X can natively run 64-bit apps. However, this requires the apps/software to be ported to ARM64, an evolution of ARM that supports 64-bit processing. ...and here is the non-technical answer. In some ways the Surface Pro X is ahead of it's time. The ARM technology (commonly used is cell phones) is new for laptops. The downside with any new technology is adoption. Apps and software companies have to upgrade their services to work with these new processors. This was occurring slowly when the Surface X was first introduced. It's happening more quickly now, especially now that Apple has started running ARM processors in some laptops. Has the hardware manufactures are using these processors more, it will put more pressure on the software providers to upgrade their services. That all being said, the isn't a specific date this will happen. It is happening now and will continue to happen... but it will likely be a little while before all apps and services will run 64-bit natively (without emulation, which is available now). Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI got my surface pro 7x today. The only issue I have found is the way you charge it. It is not something you plug into the unit. It is a strange looking plug that fits on the side of the surface. It falls off very easily.
Asked by Alta.
- A:Answer Surface Pro X uses a magnetic charger with the Surface Connect port to charge the device. If your charger is having difficulties staying connected, please feel free to reach out to our support team: https://aka.ms/AA4rbq6.

Q: QuestionWhy are these not stocked in stores??? I went to purchase one with cash in hand from the sale of another computer. No BB stores have them within 250 miles. I was told “because they are so popular” which is not true. Tons of SP7s in stock, no SPxs :(
Asked by SurfaceProBuyer.
- A:Answer I had the same experience. They were slow to sell initially because so many of the apps were incompatible with the ARM processor used. This has gotten better over time and it's expected that apps and programs will continue to upgrade to be compatible with ARM technology. This is especially the case now that Apple is also now rolling out laptops using ARM processors.
