I have the smaller 28" model so it fits between the legs of our LG 43" TV. Loud and clear, works well via HDMI ARC (I've not tried other inputs): turns on/off automatically, volume up/down/mute works from TV remote. For now I'm just setting it behind the TV (partially blocked) and it still sounds good. The Movie mode (default) sounds great (the other 2 modes not so much but I don't need them). My only complaint: I wish the tone settings could be saved, for example I find it slightly boomy (like most things these days, exaggerated bass). I turn the bass down a bit (easy to do with the included remote) but when it powers up it returns to the default settings, I wish there was some way to store my preferred settings.
Still, overall I'm very pleased with the purchase. I don't expect it to compete with the 5.1 system with my large screen but the downward firing internal speakers on most TVs are pretty bad. This is a big improvement in the sound of our smaller TV. Excellent value for the money.

I have been looking for a soundbar with great sound and design, yet budget conscious price. I can confidently say that BYL soundbar gave me exactly what I needed from ALL perspectives. And because I had to try at least 4 different ones and finally found what I loved, I decided to write a long review. My daughter and her friend helped me with the testing, so I need to recognize their help.
First of all, I do not like the ones that are not very long, they look weird under the TV. BYL is 40 inches and it aligns very well with the TV. Its design is also very nice with angular front and with solid legs making the setup very attractive looking. I am attaching pictures for that. Amazon Basics model I tried is just 32 inches and it really looked bad under the TV.
And in order to form a reference point, we tested and used BYL soundbar and Amazon basics soundbar to build an informed comparison for overall review and decision.
We watched a movie using the Amazon basics soundbar (in movie mode), and we quickly noticed that the voices of male actors were at a frequency lower than what the soundbar could handle, as it was more of an unintelligible buzzing; we strained our ears to decipher what they were saying most of the time, as the higher frequencies in their voices were often overshadowed by the low rumbling.
After watching the movie, we connected BYL soundbar, and we tested the same scene described above, and the difference was quite noticeable. Male actor voices were much clearer, and while there were still low frequencies, it was more of a bass effect making it perfectly fine to understand what they are saying. Overall it was a night and day difference. BYL was a clear winner!
We proceeded to play the same song on both soundbars ("Car Radio" by twenty-one pilots). The bass of the BYL thundered through the ground and into our feet and it was also better than the Amazon Basics one in terms of bass and clarity of the sounds.
We then played a speaker test off of YouTube on each soundbar. With this, the differences were astounding. The BYL soundbar held up as the sound frequency increased from low to high (20 Hz to ~22,000 Hz), and the buildup of frequencies was literally palpable in the air. The Amazon Basics one, however, was more like a constant whine, with scratches and buzzes and rumbles here and there. This test sealed it obviously that BYL is an amazing soundbar.
Finally, each soundbar has a remote, which features various commands, such as Bluetooth, volume increase and decrease, and sound settings (movie, news, etc.). The BYL soundbar has more of these sound settings, and it also has options to control the treble and base of the audio directly, whereas the Amazon soundbar does not provide that option. And of course, BYL has the infrared learning.
With all those amazing features, sound quality and beautiful design, BYL is arguably the best soundbar to get. Strongly recommended!

The reviews were mostly positive, a few customers received defective units but Amazon makes returns and exchanges very easy (in my experience).
I prefer the larger size of this soundbar, it just looks better to me and the unit’s appearance blends in with its surroundings and is not a visual distraction.
The 100 watt output insures strong and clear sound no matter what volume I set the soundbar to.
The price, with a small discount, taxes and free shipping came up to a little less than $100. That’s affordable for me and, considering the soundbar’s appearance and performance, I judge it a good value.
The unit was well packaged and setting it up, from unboxing to listening took about 10 minutes. Just plug in the soundbar to the outlet, connect the optical cable from the tv to the unit, turn off the tv’s speakers from the tv settings and bam! You’re in business.
The Bluetooth feature was simple to use and paired immediately with my iPhone. Training my tv’s remote to handle the soundbar’s volume controls was a little tricky for me but after a few tries I got it done. This is a very helpful feature.
The soundbar stands about 5” tall and when I placed it at the base of my television it blocked the tv’s remote sensor and intrudes an inch or so into the bottom of the tv screen. I repositioned the soundbar in such a way that it sits well below the tv and hides my dedicated laptop pc, external hard drive and cable box and that works great for me.
The only thing that I wish the soundbar had was a Bluetooth “sound out” feature so that I could pair wireless headphones for late night tv viewing. The soundbar has a Bluetooth “sound in” feature that you can connect your smartphone or tablet to and play the music on those devices and hear it through the soundbar.
All things considered, I like this soundbar and have absolutely no regrets purchasing it. My experience has been 100% positive and, if you purchase this soundbar, I hope that you will have a similarly positive experience.
