    Not fit for purpose.
I purchased these directly from netatmo, not amazon, before the release date on amazon, I would have loved to have reviewed them before hand in an attempt to save people some money. I'm a fan of netatmo. I have the weather station with wind and rain modules, the thermostat and the obviously the welcome camera. While non of them are perfect they are in my opinion very good products. These tags are another story. Firstly getting the batteries requires a vice like grip and good deal of patience to install. But I guess that won't have to be done too often so, I'll forgive them that. The main issue, as others have noted, is the range. I have a tag on a patio door less than 4m from the camera, seperated by one internal brick wall. It frequently looses contact, and has never once yet, despite maximum sensitivity, registered the door opening. They don't seem to like sliding doors. Given the camera is an internal only device and the tags are sold as suitable for outside it stands to reason they need to be able to operate through at least one external wall. Unless I missed the 'camping accessory' sticker. I have emailed netatmo to express my opinion that these products are not fit for purpose. I have not received a reply. And let's not forget that they are hugely expensive, allmost half the price of the camera itself. A typical thirty minute window of events attached.

These sensors have worked great. I've seen others complain about the range, but I have 3 Welcome cameras near each of my doors so I haven't had any issues. No disconnect issues what so ever.

I have all of Netatmo's weather devices. I assumed their new tags would also be as good. Wrong. Best range is less than 20'. Useless!

The tags are generally easy to install except the need to manually reinsert batteries when pairing them with Netatmo Welcome camera: inserting the batteries is hard because of the enclosure and cap that is used. Also after less than a year of use cap on one of my tags got broken.

Operation is stable, but in case of minor movement of windows/doors tags don't always understand the current state (closed/opened) correctly, so I can't rely 100% on their indication.

I'd say at the moment Netatmo Tags are not worth $100. It might get better with further firmware improvements.

I love the Welcome camera, and was anxiously awaiting these Tags, hoping they would improve on a few weaknesses of the Welcome camera. However, I am only marginally impressed with these devices. As others have noted, the range is very short. I tried to locate one on a door less than 50 feet away, and it did not work. I put another on a door only 10 feet away, and that one works, but not as well as I hoped. I don't really feel like the vibration sensor adds much value, except perhaps for glass-break detection. But the worst thing is that the devices do not always detect when the door opens. I would say they are about 80% on that...but the primary reason I wanted these was to ensure that if an exterior door ever opened, the system would know it. I don't understand why Netatmo did not just use a more old-school magnetic reed switch, so that when the device separates from a magnet on a door frame, it triggers the signal. That would have been 100% effective, and simple. Simple is good; inconsistent results are not so good. Also, I thought the instructions were poorly done. Believe it or not, I still love the Netatmo Welcome camera. I was just hoping for more from these Tags, and think they could have been better.

Not Ready for prime time. It's located on a clear line of site 30 feet from my camera and I get a constant stream of "lost signal", "recovered signal". In fact that's what makes up 80% of my notifications now. And i cant figure out (although I'm sure there must be a way) to disable the tag lost signal messages. Relative to the annoyance the amount of useful information provided by the tag is miniscule.

Worse NETATMO product! I have MANY Netatmo products, and these have never worked properly. First, it is extremely difficult closing the battery door once there are batteries in it. Then, all of a sudden the battery door may just open due to the battery pressure and plastic lock enclosure. They provide double stick adhesive, which is useless once you have to replace the batteries. There is no way to replace the batteries, and close that terrible battery door while it's on a door.
At the beginning, I did get some alerts...but they were incorrect. What good is it to get an alert that the garage door is open, when it's closed! Of course, you would check to APP the see that it's closed, but it's actually open.

I've contacted Customer Service on these and my Wind Gauge which is now not working, and Customer Service gives "canned" replies. It's as if they do not read the email.I love their cameras, rain gauge, weather stations, additional modules, but these TAGS are garbage!

I would like to send these items back to see if Netatmo can troubleshoot them as I've tried everything.

I am most disappointed in the Netatmo Tags performance and accuracy of information. The range is every poor and having configured the tags numerous times they still show inaccurately that doors are open when in fact they are closed. It may be that in time Netatmo will sort out these issues but at the moment this is still a beta test product wait until they have sorted out all the issues before buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars After several months working I am very satisfied with them
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 8, 2017
I live in a townhouse and I have my Netatmo Welcome camera pointing at the entrance door. I installed the tags at the entrance door, the patio door and the balcony door. The setup and calibration were uneventful and all tags are working. After several months working I am very satisfied with them. Since they work on vibrations, my tag not only notifies me when the door is opened but also when someone is knocking at the door or the postman is putting mail through the mailslot.

I do not get the bad reviews as they are working flawlesly, although I must point out that my house is very small and no tag is further than 5 m away in straight line from the camera (although there are walls and floors in between).

If you have a Netatmo Welcome camera (which is excellent too) you should try at least try them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastico complemento para Welcome
Reviewed in Spain on June 18, 2016
