The field of view compared to my older wired cameras is amazing, and crystal clear. I have a google mesh WiFi network, and haven't had any issues with 5 cameras getting signal through a 5,000 sq ft house.
I have purchased the 25ft outdoor power cables and will be installing power outlets in my attic to run constant power to each camera. While I've been impressed with the battery thus far, I have several cameras that are placed high enough where it would be a hassle to get a ladder and charge the batteries.
The motion detection works well and actually differentiates between people animals and cars. I have had some issues with the cameras still picking up things outside of the activity zones, but overall they work well. The subscription service at 9.99 a month for multiple cameras is a little pricey, but I think it's an important component.
The app is pretty feature rich, I do wish you had the ability to see multiple cameras on one screen as I could with my previous system. The microphone picks up sound very good, but I haven't had much luck with two way communication.
The spotlight is very nice to have, and lights up dark areas well, although might drain the battery quite a bit in an area with frequent movement.
Overall, I would highly recommend Arlo cameras. I do hope they hold up over time at this price point.
REVIEWS - If others' poor reviews are to be believed (I don't), this is an expensive toy that they enjoy bashing. If they didn't like it, why did they buy it? I decided to try it and, if I didn't like it, it could be easily returned - but I didn't return it because it serves my needs quite well. Initial impression is very good: Video quality is high during daylight hours but, not surprisingly, not as great at night. The LED flood lights work well but they can't give the resolution at distance that is available during the day. I don't see this as a major problem because the two cameras watching the front of my town home aren't far from the cars, are right over the front windows and door, and they are cross-aimed to monitor the same place from two directions. As winter approaches, I expect the LEDs will be welcomed to light the way to the front door at night.
INSTALLATION - Installation is easy, but make sure you have a sturdy ladder, a good drill driver or electric screwdriver, and the strength to hold it at arm's length and control it while you run the screws into the mounting surface. Screws are easy to drop between deck boards or into the grass and they are small and easy to lose. (Ask me how I know.) The back porch camera is presently mounted with the magnetic base but I might remount it with the articulating ball joint base that came in the Arlo kit. The two front cameras are mounted with black articulating ball joint bases from Wasserstein. The bases and Wasserstein camera skins are black to make them less noticeable. This is for physical security - more on that later.
RANGE - There have been some things said about this, and I found the range between the cameras and the base unit isn't great at all. It might be ~100 yards in free line of sight, but imposing walls and floors between them cuts down the signal considerably. My router is on the second level of my town home, but the cameras are on the outside walls of the first level and signal strength with the base unit near the router was not the best. Solution: I had a Netgear N300 range extender I bought several years ago that sat unused in a box for a while but was brought out of retirement to let me put the Arlo base unit on the first level close to the cameras for better signal. The base unit cables to the range extender the same as it would to my router and, as far as the Arlo base unit is concerned, it sees the range extender's wifi connection as a direct cable connection. I had to connect and power up everything and wait maybe ten minutes to allow things to settle down but it works perfectly. I don't have a mesh setup but I think it would work similarly.
SECURITY - This system was bought because we have some teen aged miscreants in our neighborhood who think it's "fun" to watch the result of some misbehavior. They like to ring door bells and dash away, and throw trash around the neighborhood play ground. This was nothing more than an annoyance until they literally ripped off a neighbor's Nest door bell, which was an expensive prank. Before they get to my location, I want to be able to identify them with a high resolution video record for the police. The more sturdy mounts and the black skins on the front cameras are intended to make them less noticeable and harder to snatch if they're so inclined.
So that's my initial evaluation of the Arlo Pro 3 kit. I rated it four of five stars because nothing is perfect, but I may upgrade it to five stars in the future. For now, the first impression is very good.
EDIT 10/27/21 - CHARGING - Charging the cameras using the included power supply would be a major headache so I bought a 5Ah portable power block, actually a NiMH battery, on clearance from Best Buy. I screwed a large cup hook into the wood next to the cameras, wrapped a rubber band around the portable battery, and I charge the cameras with it. It works very well but it doesn't have the capacity to charge the cameras to 100% if the camera battery is below about 35% - it will get the camera up do about 95% before it runs out of charge. Hindsight tell me that a portable battery worth about 8-10 Ah would take the camera from near flat to full charge. But the idea works. Beats fooling with an extension cord when on a step ladder and is much less expensive than the solar panel charger.

Me dan ganas de tirar estas cámaras
Great camera, but Arlo needs to work on its motion detecting at nights.
I will have nights with zero events recorded.
Nights is when I want the cameras to be active.
