I've used this Soundbar for about 11 months, so here's my updated review.
Setup -
If you have the Samsung ecosystem of Home Entertainment devices, setup will be a breeze. Simply follow the instructions for however you're setting it up (HDMI Arc, Optical, Wireless, etc). I'm using the HDMI Arc pass-through option for my Samsung TV, so it all works seamlessly. It even automatically set itself up for WiFi usage, based on the WiFi settings that are applied to your Samsung smart TV - a real handy feature. All I had to do was plug the HDMI into my TV, and plug in the power - it did the rest. Everything works through either the remote that came with the speaker (same as all Samsung TV remotes), or by using the SmartThings app your phone or tablet's app store (handy for when you can't find the remote).
Build Quality and Aesthetic -
This is a SOLID piece of technology. It's sleek, with a perfect metal-mesh on the front, a familiar brushed-aluminum look on the top, and a sleek matte finish on the sides. Nothing on it feels cheap, and it's heavy. If you're considering mounting it on a wall or attaching it to your TV, keep in mind the weight of this thing. I have it on top of the entertainment center, so it's front and center and I didn't have to worry about it's heft.
Sound Tuning -
This soundbar, along with the accompanied wireless rear speaker kit and wireless sub-woofer, are made to be setup the center of a room. There are no options to adjust Left or Right channels, in case the acoustics in your space need such adjustment. As far as sound profiles, there are some audio presets like "Music, Surround, Movies", etc but I found the best sound to be using the "Dynamic" profile. It'll automatically switch between these modes, based on what's coming out of the speakers, and it does a pretty great job. Speech is crystal clear during talk-heavy scenes in shows and film, and bass-heavy music still sounds deep and punchy.
Sound Quality -
I have this accompanied now by the wireless surround speaker kit, and the wireless sub-woofer. It's an incredible sound experience; from cinematic films, to surround sound in games, to all sorts of music genres. I have a computer and consoles plugged into my system, and it all just works together. Make sure to adjust your sound profiles in games, though!
Volume, aka Loudness -
A comfortable listening level for me is between 10 - 16 on my TV (out of 100), so this thing can get extremely loud. I'm sure this could handle a regular-sized movie theater just fine.
TL;DR:
Great soundbar, and I'm super happy with my purchase. I knew the surround speakers and sub-woofer would be a crucial investment into this device, as any soundbar can only perform so well. I highly recommend this speaker setup if you want a high-end experience that's real easy to set up.

I'm a minimalist and live in an apartment building. Not only do I need to be concerned about space but I have to be considerate to my neighbors. A soundbar with a seperate subwoofer that sits on the floor just wasnt an option for me. I needed a soundbar with a subwoofer built in.
I tried the Sonos Beam, which turned out to be very complicated having to download the Sonos app and connecting thru it. Unfortunately, I have a Samsung TV and the Sonos beam does not do well with that particular brand. After trying for an hour, I never got it connected to my TV.
Next up was Yamaha YAS 108. It sounded great and worked for 3 days! After that, it would not connect to my TV.
Third time is the charm. After looking at the extremely over priced Bose 500/700 and Samsung HW MS650, since I have Samung TV, i thought the latter would be my safest bet.
First I had to figure out where to put it. This sucker is huge!!! My TV is 65" and sits on a stand. I ended up positioning the bar on the shelf under the TV. after that, setup took only a couple of minutes. No extra apps to download. Just an HDMI cable for Arc connection. Turned it on and was immediately amazed by the amount of bass the bar gives out! It is perfect for an average size room or apartment where you dont want your walls and floor vibrating from a stand alone subwoofer.
This comes with a remote to use to change the different sound options. I have not had to use it because the default setting has been perfect for me as far as watching movies. Loud, great bass and clear voice. I dont know how it does with music. I have lots of other speakers to stream music from so my soundbar is being used 100% for TV. Perfect choice for my living situation. If you live in a situation where disturbing your neighbors is not an issue, then you may want to add an extra sub to this.
To say I am satisfied with this soundbar would be an understatement. Easy setup, Fantastic sound, great price. The only con is the extra large size. I would also suggest buying an extra warranty with any soundbar. But I expect this to last for many years to come.
Top reviews from other countries
Easy to set up, unobtrusive, with an elegant design and good build quality. I found the bass to me more than adequate for the room this was in ( 15'x18') At times i have had to lower the bass volume in order to keep from bothering the upstairs neighbours.
At first, everything worked fine. Sound was great. The only issue back then was that the sound bar would shut by itself after a few minutes of inactivity (supposedly a "power saving feature").
This issue seems to have been fixed somewhat by a firmware update that came later during the year 2019.
We are now in November 2019, and my sound bar is "stuck" on the "D.In" input. I talked with Samsung tech support and they made me try different things (unplugging cables, factory reset on my Samsung smart TV, using optical cable instead, etc.). Frankly, they have no idea how to fix this (at least on the phone). The major issue here is that THIS SOUND BAR DOES NOT HAVE A FACTORY RESET BUTTON, unlike other models. This is a huge red flag if you're looking to buy this product.
Now I have to bring the sound bar to a local authorized Samsung repair center. Note that this product is not even 1 year old. I deeply regret purchasing this particular sound bar. It is plagued by, what it looks like, firmware issues.
So I would advise to look for another brand. Samsung does not make reliable sound bars.
