Product Description

Precision and perfection are at the core of Kunos Simulazioni’s pedigree; first of all in creating software models for numerous motorsports Marques, and now in bringing their ground-breaking racing simulation, Assetto Corsa, to home consoles.

Deservedly positioned as “Your Racing Simulator,” Assetto Corsa ups the simulation stakes with a fanatical focus on pure driving realism, with laser-focused accuracy across every aspect of the game from the meticulous car handling to the laser-measured tracks.

Assetto Corsa features over ninety high-performance vehicles all rendered to an obsessive level of detail, and each with bespoke handling and performance modeling taken from manufacturer’s real-life track data and telemetry.

Using laser scanning technology to deliver the highest level of accuracy possible, Assetto Corsa boats twenty-four track configurations from sixteen legendary circuits, alongside an advanced physics engine built using practical knowledge acquired from the elite of motorsport including features and aspects of real cars, never seen on any other racing simulator such as tyre flat spots, heat cycles including graining and blistering.

A full suite of race modes in Single and Multiplayer are available and customization allows players to personalize their experience by adjusting the handling and race set-up of each and every car in-game to match their personal racing style.

Assetto Corsa has been developed at the Kunos Simulazioni R&D office, located at the Vallelunga international racing circuit outside Rome, allowing the team to develop the game in conjunction with some of the world’s top drivers and racing teams.

I have the last few Forza and F1 xbox0ne game. I have a 2nd Gen R8 Trak Racer rig with a butt kicker an F1 wheel and a 42in 4hd Monitor mounted on a TRACK Racer. Not professional rig but a very good one.

Pros about this Sim

The feedback in the steering wheel feels likes the 200k SIMS.
The butt kicker does not rattle at the same intensity as it does on F1 2018
The cars are LOUD
The cars are fully adjustable from the tie pressure to the camber of the tires.
Ultimate sim driving experience Includes exotics like Pagani and Scuderia.
Fun to drive and a great values compared on the Forza / F1 series sims

Only Cons
If you are want the fast German cars BMX, AUDI, Porsche.. you need to buy the add on packs on the Xbox website.
There are too many settings for the sim drivers that contemplate at times. NO really a con if you are a driving seem junkie. and the far right end of the spectrum.
Not much fun without a wheel and pedal set up

Verdict:

Buy this game if you have an Xbox One with a wheel and pedal setup.
Buy it and save it until you get a wheel and pedal setup for your Xbox One.

First things first: Assetto Corsa is the ONLY real RACING SIMULATOR available for the Xbox One. Physics are accurate, handling is spot on and wheel implementation is great.

That said, it does has its flaws. First one is the game's very limited scope. The car selection, racing and events options, AI, are severely limited, especially when compared to other realistic racing titles as Forza Motorsport and Project Cars.

Besides the limited depth in terms of cars, tracks, events options, Assetto Corsa's user interface leaves a lot to be desired. It is not as intuitive and clumsy. A big issue for me was that it is not possible to toggle common game settings or controller setting as ABS, automatic gears, auto clutch, etc., without leaving the race/practice session to the main menu. The worst part is to having to face another loading wait to get back to racing, not to mention losing all progress made up to the point you left the track to go to settings at the main menu.

The frame rate is also an issue. On the Xbox One S, during races the frame rate had steep drops below 25 fps. While alone in the track in in practice mode, although the frame rate was more consistent floating around 40 to 50 fps, there were still some hiccups to 30s.

Although playing with a controller still a nice experience, it is significantly harder. However, it is harder but not in a more-challenge-equals-more-fun way. It took me a couple of hours tweaking the controller settings to get it to a playable state. I had to look online for what each setting actually does, as there is no description of controller settings in game or in the lean printed in-lay that comes with the disc.

In conclusion, if you don't own a Logitech, Fanatec or Thrustmaster force feedback enabled wheel, you would be better served with Forza or Project Cars. and/or is not willing tk spend hours tweaking controller settings and wants a really hard, realistic simulator experience.

Finally, graphics and sound are good, but not great.

If your are into sim racing, have a decent wheel and would like to try a real sim on the Xbox One, go ahead, you will most probably love it. Otherwise, you will have more fun with Forza and Project Cars.

This is simulation racing meant to be played with a force feedback wheel. The driving in the game is amazing on a wheel. With a few patches to fix screen tearing and some small sound issues it will just get better in time. If you have a ffb wheel you will be very satified with the feel of driving. If all you have is a gamepad to play with you will be very disappointed.

I'm a huge fan of the Forza Motorsport series. But while many people don't consider it a true sim ( I don't really either) I wanted to try a true one. Many people recommended this game. And honestly I'm a bit underwhelmed. It's a great sim for honing your Sim driving skills, but not much else. The game isn't going to help you hone your skills either. A good example is Braking line. After a few practice laps I like to shut this off anyway, but it's supposed to be a tool to help you learn the track. Other racing titles adjust your braking line to your speed and your vehicles ability to brake. This game just has random red spots regardless of your speed or what you drive. So it's useless. The opponent AI if you're playing solo is very strange. Sometimes when you pass them it seems like they give up. While other times they go full rammer. AI difficulty scales strangely also. There seems to be a huge swing between everything from Very Easy to Hard ( as I feel it should be) but Hard to Alien seems unchanged.
If you're coming from Forza or Gran Turismo, the car and track selection is a quite underwhelming as well.
Anything American is virtually non existent.
Steering wheel support is meh. Unless there is a menu I can't find, there isn't much wheel and pedal adjustment at all. And for a game called a Sim racer, that disappointed me vastly.
Don't even bother with Career mode. That's all I'll say about that.
Online Multiplayer actually isn't that bad. Shockingly unlike other racing games, drivers for the most part seem to be pretty respectful of one another.
If you're going to get this game for anything, get it for the multiplayer.
But I will say I'm glad I didn't waste $60 on this game when it first released. It's not worth more than $20.
And last but not least, at the time of making this review this game has been out for years. So I doubt you'll even bother reading it Lol

3.0 out of 5 stars Limited car setups and controller adjustments

I mistakenly bought this instead of the much higher standard Assetto Corsa Competizione. This game is very limited with car setups and controller adjustments. These options are essential being that both games are simulation format rather than arcade which are more casual player friendly. Steering/pedal controller is a must to play unless you are extremely good with D-pad controllers. For about the same price, get the Competizione version if you're die hard into racing games.
