Acoustic Research launches Airplay and Bluetooth-enabled speaker systems

At the Voxx International (formerly Audiovox) press conference at CES, the company unveiled new innovations for Acoustic Research in both Airplay and Bluetooth-enabled home and portable speaker systems. We’ve got the details on exactly what consumers can expect.

acoustic research launches airplay and bluetooth enabled speaker systems arap50Available in the Spring of this year, the ARAP50 Airplay speaker system will cost $200 and feature the wireless Apple technology as well as a sleek design that will fit in nicely in almost any home. Using the Airplay technology, users will be able to easily stream music from any iOS device to the speaker system set up in their home. No other specs about the system were released.

acoustic research launches airplay and bluetooth enabled speaker systems awsbt1In addition to the new use of Airplay technology, Acoustic Research will offer a new wireless Bluetooth system that will also allow users to easily stream music without keeping their device hardwired into the system. The ARS70 Bluetooth speaker system will retail for $130 and will play music from any Bluetooth-connected device. The system will have 20 watts of AR high quality sound and will be released this spring.

The company also announced new models of outdoor wireless portable speakers that are designed to fit in outdoor living rooms and offer the ultimate in portability. The new lineup of outdoor portable speaker systems offers Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.5mm jack for direct connection, and a 900MHz wireless transmitter that offers a 150-foot range. The Mission and Main Street models have a classic design perfect for outdoor living spaces, and the AWSBT1 model has sporty style for use in the outdoors as well as a UV and water-resistant exterior. All three models will be available in the spring from with a price range of $100 – $160.
