Amazon is starting 2026 by rethinking how people actually find something to watch on Fire TV. Ahead of CES 2026, the company has unveiled a fully redesigned Fire TV experience, alongside a revamped Fire TV mobile app, to reduce the time spent scrolling and get viewers to their shows faster.

Amazon says the update is driven by how overwhelming streaming has become, with so much content spread across apps that simply choosing something can feel like work.

A faster, cleaner Fire TV experience

The updated Fire TV interface prioritizes speed and clarity. Amazon has rebuilt the underlying software to make navigation quicker, with up to 30% performance gains compared to the old layout. The design itself looks more modern, with cleaner layouts, softer edges, updated typography, and better spacing, but the bigger change is how content is organized.

Recommended Videos

Fire TV now organizes movies, TV shows, sports, news, and live content into dedicated sections that pull titles from all your streaming apps in one place, instead of forcing you to open each app separately to see what’s available. This is meant to reduce the time people spend searching.

Users can now pin up to 20 apps on the home screen, up from 6, and quickly access sections like Games, Art and Photos, and the Ambient Experience using the remote.

Alexa+ is also deeply woven into the new experience. Viewers can ask for personalized recommendations, jump to specific scenes in movies on Prime Video, check game stats, control smart home devices, or even generate AI-powered background screensavers, all through natural voice commands.

The Fire TV mobile app finally does more than act as a remote

Amazon is also overhauling the Fire TV mobile app, which many people previously used only as a backup remote. The redesigned app now mirrors the look and feel of the new Fire TV interface and lets users browse content, manage watchlists, and start playback directly on their TV.

The app is positioned as a second screen, making it easier to discover what to watch next, save recommendations from friends, or queue up content while away from home. Amazon says the updated Fire TV mobile app will be free to download, rounding out a broader Fire TV refresh that spans the living room and the phone in your pocket.

The redesigned Fire TV interface will begin rolling out in February, first reaching the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (second generation), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED TVs.

The broader rollout will continue later in the spring, expanding to newer Fire TV 4K streaming players and TVs, including the Fire TV 2-Series, Fire TV 4-Series, Fire TV Omni QLED models, and Fire TV OS televisions made by partners such as Panasonic, Hisense, TCL, and Insignia.

Samsung is reportedly working on another new Galaxy Buds design, this time with ear hooks that could keep them secure during workouts.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro

Samsung has largely stuck with traditional designs for its Galaxy Buds lineup over the years, with the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live standing out as the one truly radical departure. But that appears to be changing, as Samsung experiments with designs its rivals have embraced for years. Just a day after leaked renders offered an early look at the clip-on Galaxy Buds On, a new leak has shed light on another upcoming pair of Galaxy Buds targeted at gym-goers and athletes.
