This system was designed from the ground up to accomplish the goal of providing quality sound and value in a small, sleek, home theater flat screen solution.
The MICRA consist of four MS satellite speakers that feature a 3.5 inch long throw woofer platform, and a 1/2 inch tweeter. Flexible mounting hardware is included that allows the speaker to be wallor ceiling mounded. The speakers’ enclosure is formed from an injection molded resin that provides a light yet solid structure. All drivers are magnetically shielded. The MC is the matching centerchannel included in the system. It features a 1/2 inch tweeter and dual 3.5 inch woofers for added power handling and dynamic abilities. It is timbre matched to the MS satellites and comes withmounting hardware that also allows for numerous mounting options.
The set up is also simplified, like all Athena products. The M 225 subwoofer is is also included with the system. It features a 225 watt MOSFET amplifier, and a new design that allows it tocomplement most decors while taking up very little floor space. The vented 8 inch design is flat in response down to 27hz, however, athena claims it is capable of more actual bass output.
The subwoofer has its own filtering system build in, so the end user need only connect a single RCA jack from the receiver. The operating range of the sub is preset, allowing plug and playsimplicity.
The MICRA system will begin shipping at the end of September, and has a suggested retail in the US of $549.99.
