Behold iNuke Boom, the 8×4-foot iPhone dock that you won’t believe is real

We in the tech press are constantly bombarded by emails telling us about new products that are about to launch. (Poor us, we know…) This is especially true in December, as the annual Consumer Electronics Show, which takes place during the second week of January, edges ever closer. So it’s easy to overlook a lot of the pitches and press releases. But this morning, something came through our inbox that is so awesomely audacious, we couldn’t help but share.

This (pictured above) is iNuke Boom, the most gigantic iPhone/iPod dock in existence. (Yes, that little thing on the top is an iPhone.) Made by Behringer, this $30,000, car-sized contraption measures 4-feet tall and 8-feet wide, and weighs 700 pounds, meaning you’re going to need to rent a U-Haul to bring this sucker home. Why is it so ridiculously large? To blow you away with 10,000 watts of face-melting tunes, of course!

The iNuke Boom officially launches at CES, where we’ll be sure to get a closer look (as if that’s needed). Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until then to give you more technical details. In the mean time, you can shop for what kind of ladder you think will go well with your iNuke Boom.

Pro-Ject’s record flattener looks like a waffle iron, will rehab warped vinyl
Pro-Ject Audio's Flatten It record flattener.

For vinyl record lovers, there are few things worse than dropping the needle on a great used record store find (or even new!) only to watch its warped plastic bobble around and around on your turntable. A warped record, if it's extreme enough, can warble the sound and even cause skips, turning your sweet score into a dinner plate. Well, turntable-makers Pro-Ject Audio thinks it might have the solution with its Flatten It "Vinyl Record Flattening Machine" that it just announced, and if it works as advertised, it could be a godsend for record collectors.

The €799 (U.S.$999), waffle iron-looking device uses low heat and pressure to "gently and safely flatten your vinyl," the Pro-Ject website says. Using "premium heated aluminium plates for even heat distribution," the Flatten It uses precise temperature control keeps things in between 56 and 58°C (132.8-136.4°F). Just for context, a record is pressed at a temperature of 160°C (345°F).

Eyes on the Beats Solo 4 headphones? Don’t miss this deal
Beats Solo 4 in Cloud Pink.

If you've been waiting for a tempting offer from Beats headphone deals, this could be it: the Beats Solo 4 for only $130 from Best Buy, following a $70 discount on their original price of $200. This deal lasts until March 29, but the stock up for sale won't last forever. In fact, they could already be gone as soon as tomorrow.

Why you should buy the Beats Solo 4 wireless headphones
The Beats Solo 4 are the latest release in the popular line of wireless headphones, which is still a fan favorite because of the modern upgrades you can find in this model. Unfortunately, the additions don't include active noise cancellation nor Bluetooth multipoint, but you'll still be getting headphones with a sleek design and a comfortable fit that will let you maximize their extremely long battery life of up to 50 hours on a single charge. When their battery gets depleted, just 10 minutes of charging will give you 5 hours of usage through their Fast Fuel technology. You also won't mind wearing the Beats Solo 4 the whole day with their ergonomic design, flex-grip headband, and adjustable ear cups.
