Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 2 is like widescreen for your ears

“Widescreen for your ears” is certainly an evocative concept, though a difficult one to picture. Bowers & Wilkins announced its new Panorama 2 recently, and are billing the product with a bevy of breadth related adjectives.

A product of the Bowers & Wilkins’ UK division, the Panorama 2 features newly designed low-frequency drive units which the company believes will “deliver improved acoustics on a product that already set the standard.” The Panorama’s casework houses nine such spiffed up drivers and includes two bass woofers, two mid-range drivers and an aluminum dome tweeter featuring Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus tube-loaded technology.

The svelte sound bar promises an immersive sound experience from just one cabinet and a wide-ranging “sweet-spot” that will allow listeners in most any part of the room to feel its full effect.

Three HDMI inputs, one HDMI output and a proximity-sensing display highlight the Panorama 2’s feature set. Expect the Panorama 2 to retail for $2200  in late October 2012.

We’ve yet to get our mitts on one, so the jury’s out on whether or not the product is worthy of its skyscraping price tag; though, admittedly, Bowers & Wilkins rarely disappoints.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro look like the Samsung earbuds we’ve been waiting for
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro — Samsung's latest entry in the true wireless earbud world — feel like a culmination of the company's efforts in this space. The Galaxy Buds Pro debuted in January 2021 with powerful noise cancellation and great audio quality. Unfortunately, they were let down by complaints of wonky touch controls and a design that people either loved or hated. The Galaxy Buds 2 followed a few months later in August, featuring a sleeker, more comfortable fit and a lower price.

Fast-forward to August 2022, and we now have the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which are smaller than the Buds Pro, but have more impressive audio specs than the Buds 2 — theoretically creating the best of both worlds. (Fast-forward even further and read our full Galaxy Buds 2 Pro review!)

Bowers & Wilkins’ upcoming Px8 are so secret, we can only reveal the price
Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 close-up.

Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) just updated its flagship noise-canceling headphones -- be sure to read our Px7 S2 review. But even before the first reviews could be published, the British audio brand hit us with a bombshell: The Px7 S2 will have a very short reign as the company's best cans.

Later this year, we will be introduced to the Bowers & Wilkins Px8, a set of wireless headphones that B&W has already indicated will be its new flagship product.

B&W Panorama 3 soundbar: Easy Dolby Atmos for $1,000
Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 3 front touch panel.

British audio company Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) has taken the wraps off the $999 Panorama 3 -- its very first Dolby Atmos-capable soundbar. The all-in-one speaker is available starting March 3 at bowerswilkins.com and select B&W retailers. At that price, the Panorama 3 joins a growing collection of near-$1,000 Dolby Atmos soundbars that includes the $899 Sonos Arc, $899 Bose Smart Soundbar 900, and $1,000 Sony HT-A5000.

B&W might be best known in audiophile circles for its $35,000 per pair floor-standing loudspeakers, but the company also knows a thing or two about building speaker systems for those who want to keep things simple. In fact, that's the whole premise behind the Panorama 3: There's no wireless subwoofer, no HDMI inputs, and no option for rear speakers. Instead, B&W has put everything you need inside one remarkably slender speaker enclosure. There are 13 individual drivers, including three 3/4-inch dome tweeters, six 2-inch cone bass/midranges, two 2-inch cone Atmos (height) drivers, and twin 4-inch subwoofers -- all powered by 400 watts of amplification. The result, B&W says, is "a room-filling and powerful sound no one-box rival can match."
