Discovery Plus free trial: Stream for a week for free

Add as a preferred source on Google

With such a huge variety of streaming services to chose from, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. There are options focused on prestige TV, or movies, or original series, and just about any other type of TV you can name. But if you love reality TV and shows focused on cooking or home improvement, then the service you might be most interested in is Discovery Plus. The service has had a rocky history recently and last year it raised its prices, but you can still get a free seven-day trial of the service to decide if you want to fork out for a regular subscription.

There is a Discovery Plus free trial, and if things like a Disney Plus free trial and a Peacock TV free trial are of interest to you, it’s worth pouncing on. The Discovery Plus free trial does consist of signing up for the paid service, at which point you’re given seven days of free access to the entire Discovery Plus library of content. You have the full seven days to enjoy all of the Discovery Plus content you like, and you can cancel with no financial commitment within those seven days. If you don’t cancel within those seven days, your credit card will be billed $4.99 per month or $8.99 per month, depending on which Discovery Plus tier you choose at signup.

Both tiers of the subscription (and the free trial) give you access to the same content, so you can watch cooking shows like Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives or Beat Bobby Flay or home improvement shows like Fixer to Fabulous or Homestead Rescue. The offerings are strongest in the reality TV genres, so you’ll find documentaries and series like House Hunters, Naked and Afraid, and Ancient Aliens.

Can you get Discovery Plus for free?

Discovery Plus is available for free in certain situations. One of those is if you’re a Verizon Unlimited customer and you meet the requirements. If this is the case, you can get Discovery Plus for free for twelve months. This essentially is an extended version of the Discovery Plus free trial, which is a solid seven days of access to the Discovery Plus catalog, and which can be accessed from various outside platforms, such as Amazon Prime Video, through the Discovery Plus app on an AppleTV, and can even be accessed through other streaming devices.

Alternatively, you might consider some of the other services with offers, like the Amazon Prime Video free trial, HBO Max free trial, the Showtime free trial, or even the Sling TV free trial. They’re certainly not the same as Discovery Plus, but they offer plenty of content to watch, especially on top of a subscription you already have!

Are there any Discovery Plus deals?

Once your free trial is up, you might be looking out for deals for a cheaper Discovery Plus subscription. Unfortunately Discovery Plus no longer offers its discount for military service members or students, so anyone who wants to watch the content will have to pay full price.

The two options are an ad-supporter tier at $5 per month plus tax, or an ad-free version at $9 per month plus tax. The ad-free tier additionally supports watching offline with mobile downloads.

Your next song could soon carry an AI warning label, and the music industry is all for it
AI isn't the problem anymore. Knowing it's AI is.
AI tag imagined with AI

The music industry's battle with artificial intelligence is entering a new phase. After spending the past two years fighting AI companies in court and pushing back against unauthorized training on copyrighted music, record labels are now turning their attention to something far simpler: transparency. A coalition representing major record labels, artists, and music organizations wants streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music to clearly tell listeners when a song has been created with artificial intelligence.

The proposal, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, comes as AI-generated music becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish from songs created by human artists. Rather than banning AI music altogether, the industry is arguing that listeners deserve to know what they're hearing before they hit play.

Your YouTube playlists can now become actual TV shows, but there’s a catch you need to know
YouTube just gave Partner Program creators the episodic infrastructure that Netflix has been using to keep audiences hooked for years.
Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

YouTube just gave its creators a tool that streaming platforms take for granted. I’m talking about the ability to structure content as proper episodic TV.

If you're in the YouTube Partner Program and you’ve been organizing your videos into playlists while praying that the algorithm and your audience notice, then Shows is the upgrade you've been waiting for.

Sony IER-M500 Launched Featured in use by artists

Sony is officially back in the professional in-ear monitor (IEM) space. The company has announced the IER-M500, a new pair of stage-focused earphones designed for everyone from aspiring musicians to seasoned performers. Rather than chasing features like active noise cancellation or spatial audio for casual listening, the IER-M500 is built with one goal in mind: helping artists hear themselves clearly during live performances.
