GoVideo Updates Portable DVD Line-Up

From GoVideo’s press release:

GoVideo today announced its most complete Portable DVD line-up ever, offering new innovative models varying in screen size, form factor, and function.

Six new models in screen sizes ranging from five to more than eight inches in 4:3 and 16:9 screen aspect ratios encompass GoVideo’s new lineup, including two players designed specifically for those who are active outdoors or travel frequently, and two models that connect to an optional TV tuner for TV and movie viewing on the go.

The new 5-inch 4:3 screen aspect ratio DP5040 (MSRP $199.99) comes in a compact design and is the ideal companion for travel. The sleek shape and compact size means you can take it anywhere. The DP6040 (MSRP $229.99) takes all the unique features and functions of the DP5040 and adds a 16:9 widescreen so DVD movies can be enjoyed with the original screen formatting. The DP6040 boasts a screen measuring 6.2-inches, creating a distinct portable movie viewing experience.

OFF-ROAD Series

Need a DVD player that’s made for the rigors of an active lifestyle? The GoVideo OFF-ROAD series is your answer. The 6.2-inch 16:9 widescreen DP6240 (MSRP $229.99) and the 7-inch 16:9 widescreen DP7240 (MSRP $249.99) come with the amazing features you expect from GoVideo, and adds impact shielded rubber edges and anti-shock protection to absorb the real world bumps and bruises. No other portable DVD player on the market offers this level of functionality, style, and performance.

TV Tuner Series

For those who want DVD entertainment and TV viewing as well, the DP7040 (MSRP $249.99) and the DP8440 (MSRP $349.99) are the answer. Fully featured, these models are enhanced with the ability to receive broadcast TV via a TV tuner (Model DPT100 sold separately, MSRP $49.99) that attaches directly to the unit. Once plugged in, the 7-inch 16:9 widescreen DP7040 and the 8.4-inch 16:9 widescreen DP8440 are instantly transformed into portable TVs. The remote for both units also controls basic TV functions such as tuning and volume.

Each GoVideo portable DVD player comes with a rechargeable battery offering up to three hours of battery life. A slim credit card-style remote control small enough to slip into a pocket allows you to operate the player’s main functions. The entire line plays DVDs, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, Music CDs, Kodak Picture CDs, MP3 audio and JPEG image files on CD-R/RW. Stereo Speakers are built-in for total entertainment experience.

Dual headphone outputs make sharing your movie experience easy (not available on DP7240). Additional accessories include a car adapter/charger, AC adapter/charger, and A/V cables. Connect a camcorder, video game or other external audio and video source to each unit and enjoy home movies and games on the go.

Optional accessories include a convenient carrying case that easily straps to the back of a car seat, great for in-car entertainment on trips around the block or around the country

“There are so many different entertainment choices, we wanted to offer compelling Portable DVD solutions for everyone,” said Jerry Barbera, GoVideo’s vice president of sales and channel marketing.
